first up.
Hi All, long time no chat. Hope everyone is doing well and having fun.

Anyone need an unflown airframe?
I have that 104" 3dhs slick that I parted out last year.
It comes with two pulse 2s lipo's, bling, blazing star mount, and ready for you to drop in your electronics and engine.

The canister mufflers are already mounted and the plane comes with DA 120 headers.

I'm thinking I might be interested without the cans, headers or lipos. PM sent. You got me thinking about the possibility of doing a 14S electric but I'm counting pennies, a couple jets are also calling my name.

Something dangerous to do!
I've got the standard Flex Jet, pretty impressed so far, :-}

The video I saw of the 3D flex Jet, it looked like the landing gear was replaced with wire. It's super hard to have retracts and 3D an EDF. Thats how the Sebart jet works, no gear. And it has to be kept small to hand launch so big fans are out. I guess I could get this thing and take the retracts out of it? https://www.motionrc.com/collections...mm-edf-jet-pnp

I did a lot of reading and investigating and I'm very much convinced not to attempt the scratch build project. Maybe some day with with Turbines.

I believe it comes with the full retracts and also an additional set of lightweight wire landing gear.

Yeah, electric retracts apparently. "Flying weight" is listed as 2600g with a thrust of 3000g. That seems a little marginal especially if the FW assumes a 4000mah pack installed. Pulling the retracts out is probably a good idea. Definitely a hand launch/belly land candidate if 3D is the intent IMO.

Flop-Arpy/Open House

Kitsap Arcs is having a Flop-arpy/ Open house on Saturday June 15.
We'd like to promote 3D Flying. We like to see "those guy's" and their friends fly again.

Hope you can make it, 9 AM till whenever, pass on the word. We'll have the BBQ going.

Looks like I checked in here just in time... Was actually up at MARC last weekend to do a quickie demo flight with 3d Ken, Larry, and SupaTimmy and couldn't help but reminisce about the glory days. I know lots of the guys are out there still but from what a lot of people have communicated ALL threads have turned into ghost towns in lieu of a bunch of the misc FB groups where Zuckerberg's algorithm puts posts and and get togethers directly in your face. The path of least resistance is the way of the future unfortunately...

That being said though there are still a bunch of great local events happening as well as the the oddball pop up events where the 3D contingent still makes an appearance (Die Hard, RAMS, Flaming Geyser, etc.) I'll throw this out there just to put it on everyone's radar but in less than 2 months I'm hosting a 3D and giant focused event on this side of the mountains. It's in Shelton at the airport and with 3000ft of pavement it should be plenty of room for anything and everything!!! Hope you guys find a way out there and even if you don't want to camp or hotel it out there, at least make a day trip out of it as it will be worth it!
