Lock 4 Flyers - Gallatin, TN

Howdy folks. Welcome to the Lock 4 Flyers chat thread.

Please feel free to use and abuse it. Chat, upload your pics, link your videos and rant about our lack of hobby shops despite having three fields and two AMA clubs in this county! Yeah, that bugs me.

Most importantly though, post your flight schedules! I've been flying at Lock 4 for almost a year and very rarely see anyone else out there. Last week, I met a few new folks out there and it was awesome to finally see some glow power in the air.

I'll start.

Weekends: If the weather is nice, I'm usually out there by 9 AM, if not earlier.

Wednesdays: Same time and conditions as the weekend.

Weeknights: When daylight savings time kicks in, I plan on being out there as much as I can in the evenings after work until it's too dark to fly.

Everything I fly is electric but I love the sound and smell of glow engines. I've been into RC for over 20 years and have owned quite a few nitro cars but I haven't made that jump into glow powered planes yet.

That's enough for now. I just wanted to get this started.

Too windy to fly this weekend. I tried and almost crashed my Parkmaster. There's a chunk of elapor on the ground somewhere.

Great day at the field. Lots of stick time this morning. I maidened The Hoot and was very impressed. It's a fun little plane. Met some new pilots out there a bit later in the day and flew some more. Tomorrow's forecast looks as good as today's did. Hopefully more folks will show up.

Time to charge some batteries!

Sunday was great. It was good to meet a fellow heli pilot. I got the 500 ready now. I hope this junk works.

I've got all I need with my shiny new DX7.

This weekend looks like crap for flying. No fun. Gonna build a bigger Hoot and put my other light kit on it. I'll pick up some wheels and wire from the Hobby Lobby in Brentwood tomorrow.

Hmmm... tomorrow might be a good day to try out the new camera at the field. Light winds and no rain! All batteries are charged and ready to go.

Not completely happy with the way my little camera has to be mounted to film properly so I just ordered this one.

You need one for the heli!
