In simple terms the shorter the wires are between the ESC and battery the more consistant the voltage remains under a changing load. If the wires are too long the added resistance may allow the power demand of the ESC to empty the capacitors faster then the battery can keep them "filled". This has been known to cause some ESC's to fail on occasion.

believe me if you have long leads put the CC cap set on ...dont ask me how i know.

Nice pilot detail, the orange wheel rims are a nice touch.
