The 4#3B is extremely squirrelly and unstable. It's highly affected by any air currents and responds slowly. It's one of the most difficult helis to learn to fly. But, it's pretty durable and if you learn to fly it, any other heli will be a piece of cake. Definitely not a beginner's heli.

The CB100 is a nice entry level heli. It's quite stable and responses are muted. It's a bit tame after a while, but it will teach you orientation and give some basic control experience. It should be as durable as the 4#3B, but upgrading it seems to be a common practice.

I think you are making one smart choice! The 4#3B is being phased out in favor of the CB100... the new head design on the CB100 makes the heli so much more stable it almost can't even be compared to the 4#3B! You will quite happy with the CB100 for sure!

You might want to consider starting out with the simple basic CB100 version to start with... have fun with it, and once you master it and it gets a bit "boring", you can then spice things up a bit with upgraded motors and ESC's.

i have both.. the 4b3 drove me nuts at first but i learnt alot about how everything works due to the fact that i had fix it so many times i have taken it totally apart and put it back togeter again many times each time improving the flight characteristics and my abillity to fly, the cb100 has ironed out the kinks and it flys well, maybe to well the 4b3 made me a better pilot with a better understanding of the hobby still not an easy bird to fly. it made me find this site trying to find solutions to problems so not all that bad! if you want to have fun get the cb100 hands down but if you want to learn more then the 4b3 will teach you... the tx is better with the cb100 also a good selling point either way enjoy bud

I had a 4#3B that I sold after a couple months. I could fly it, but you have to put so much effort into dealing with it's poor flight characteristics, it wasn't worth the bother. It teaches you a lot, alright. But, most of it's stuff you shouldn't have to know.

My very first fp was a 4#3b. I learn to fly fp on the 4#3b and a 4#3q.

then I got the cb100 and there is a world of difference. The cb100 is WAY easier to fly and much more stable.

You should get the cb100 to learn on and go from there. I still like to get the 4#3b and 4#3q out because they are more challenging. Once you can fly the 4#3 you can pretty much fly anything.
