The announcement was a let down. I need to replace my DX6i. The memory is full up with RX's to spare. The radio also needs to visit the HH happy land for some much needed repairs (am I the only one whose batteries are held in by rubber bands, battery door is lost).
Maybe I'll have to look at other brands.
The non-announcement may have cost them many sales.

At a guess it is designed for 6 to 9V so 6xAA, 2S LiFe or 2S LiPo, but we will see. Note that the built-in charger runs from any external 12V DC source so presumably 3S lipo is not an option, at least not if you want it fully charged.

I have watched the countdown for the New DX8 and I have to say I'm very dissappointed to say the least.............

Big build up and then nothing............ I have a DX7 and love it to bits and will tell anyone that will listen to me how good its been, both in performance and service from the Spektrum themselves.

But wake up Spektrum in this day and age you just cant make a big build up to announce "nothing"

Hurry up and wait.............

I think that "teasers" like this are designed to stop consumers from purchasing a currently available product sold by a competitor. The promise of something-better-to-come is a classic vaporware strategy.

Notice how Motorola announced the Droid X cell phone same day that the new iphone was released?

Horizon must be afraid of losing clients to Hitec Aurora.

Would we have to bear it single-ended or push-pull?

These are really some "class A" jokes.

Is this really your unbiased opinion?

Some of these jokes are definitely ungrounded.

I don't think people appreciate such 'negative feedback'

VERY true!
Also unfortunate for many who have little in the way of an experience base from which to draw.
As do a lot others I see many inputs which are baseless in fact but as you say-------- open forum input-----

Had a quick look at one of these today at a model show and i have to say they look very nice. The silver is more silvery than on my DX6i and the screen looks very good. I didnt ask about any of the features really but wish i had

Sorry, I am little late to the party, but what do you guys mean a let down?? I think it is a great radio and if it sells for a bit more than the dx7se, then it will have a great selling point too. I will get one if it is under $350 and I can sell my dx6i for 100.
