was there some kind of smake set up on the wingtips? a skid plate? what was going on there....looked like a really fun show especially with that valley off to the far side

There was another video of this routine i watched a while back where the pilot discussed the show and plane in more detail and mentioned steel sheeting on the wingtips to prevent damage during the wing tip dragging.

Here's the video with Kyle talking about how hard it is to fly so badly, LOL.
It's quite interesting to hear him talk about the performance.

I believe Kyle is the son of the late Jimmy Franklin, is that correct? Jimmy had the jet engine slung underneath a Waco.
