If he meant an audio signal, then yeah...that means nothing. Single packets of data lost over a poorly made cable can cause tons of issues. And, a cable that may cause data loss could provide an analog audio connection that seems totally fine.

I hope this is ok to post but I just found Chucks book The Ultimate Guide to the Spektrum DX8 available in the UK.

Bingo. It was meant to deliver an audio signal. You might get away with using it for more to a certain point, but it's not adequate. I wouldn't count on it as a back up for a buddy box.

If a cable is good enough to deliver a audio signal, it's good enough for a transmitter. Trust me, the transmitter signal is nothing special from a electrical point of view. So any decent cable should suffice in my opinion. |

I am certainly not doubting your experience!!
I thinking it was just a unlucky piece of wire. |

Can you explain further? Data going over a wire is far more sensitive to interference and poor connections than audio is.

I think JC Spohr is right.
Data is really nothing different than audio (in a cable). It's just worse when you lose a bit. |
