It's plastic. The whole setup should be pulling about 33amps and making a little under 500 watts according to the Hobby Lobby website. I haven't put it on a watt meter myself though. It's a good combo
for this jet. It's easy on the packs but still makes good power. When flown correctly, this bird looks just like a real F-18, so I'm loving this jet and power setup so far.

Sounds pretty good for a plastic rotor. Are the rotor blades stiff, the blades I had on my Delta 480 fan are way to flimsy and would cavitate under a load.

I'm really curious to see wattmeter numbers on that, it really performs from your vid.

hi brati4,

The battery is a Hyperion 4S 2600 mah, 35C and it weights just under 10 ounces.

This happens to just counter the greater weight of the RC Lander fan - CG comes out to where it should per the manual.

I will will run the system on a Wattmeter this coming weekend and post my results.

Good luck.

Thanks, that's amazing that this plane can take a 2600, you must get great flight times. Please post your numbers as I'm curious what a 35c batt will do for this.

Anyone know when these might be back in stock? I know a few friends that want one, and I'd like to have a backup on standbye just in case....

So, the combo runs about 700 watts and 45 amps according to the wattmeter.

I usually land in about 2.5 minutes so I can't say how long the flight lasts. After a few flights with various batt packs, I now think the 2600 batt makes the plane a bit nose heavy. It flies and lands better with the 2200 batt. I will see if I can move the 2600 batt further back.

You should be able to get at least 4-4:30 minutes out of the 2200, depending how much WOT you use. This is what I am easily getting from my 2350s.

If you have a wattmeter, I would love to know how many amps the stock setup is pulling, and how many watts it's making. Mine is feeling kinda slow on 4s with my setup.

My F/A-18 arrived yesterday evening. I take it back, I will NOT be repainting this plane, looks even better in person. Probably wont get to flying this weekend being it's Easter so patient preparations must prevail, since this is my first EDF RTF. Gotta look for my wattmeter now. Where did i put that?..........
