Outta: Was your only upgrade or mod going to a 4s? If not what else did you do?? If my Eflite F-16 with the RCL 64 mm fan turns into packing foam I might need to try this. Here is the fan unit in the RCL Thunderblade. Should really make the F-18 honk.

I just got an airframe only kit and put my own electronics in it including the 4s power setup. That RC Lander fan should be a good combo.

Mine was an airframe only kit, and it came without the landing gear attached. If you want to remove yours, you can just loosen the set screw and slide it apart.

The only mod I did was to close up the small hole in the motor hatch. I noticed that a lot of thrust had been blowing out of the hole, so I plugged it with some clear plastic and hot glue. The 4s power is perfect for this jet, and I plan to leave it as-is from here on out. Some mini retracts would be great, but at the cost of weight, and I don't think there's enough room anyway, so she will remain a belly lander.

What edf setup did you go with?? BTW, do you have an AUW, my F-16 is currently at 33oz full up and I am wondering if this basic airframe is lighter, the downside of the RCL fan is it is an in-runner and heavy.

I have the Airfield F-18 anniversary version - RC Lander Cyclone and 4S Hyperion. Flies incredibly well and fast. Love this combo!

Here's the edf motor that I put in it:http://www.hobby-lobby.com/brushless...QueryId=530965 It was on sale when I bought it, for $33.00. My AUW is 27.5oz with the 4s 2200mah pack.

Looks similar to the RCL unit.. Is the rotor plastic or a composite? Have you watt-metered that thing?
