Hangar 9 Aresti 40 ARF electric conversion?
Hi Guys,
Wondering, how can I convert the Aresti 40 ARF into an electric plane? What battery, motor, etc do you guys recommend? Also, how much would I have to spend to convert it into an electric? Thanks a lot! |

I know someone as done this conv.
I would do a search on Aresti and see what comes up This is what I would use, I think you would be very happy Hacker B50 13S 5.2:1 $259.95 , Master 70-3P Opto $139.00, 14x3000 $7.95 per cell ($111.00 per pack), 14x10 $7.95 Cooling fins $15.00 Prop adapter $30.00 So I think you would run around $500.00 to $600.00 for all the stuff you would need, but remember Hacker is on the expensive side of brushless system but work very well there is other systems that don't cost as much maybe someone else will chim in and give you some other ideas If I remember right the whole plane after the conv. is about 94-100oz done I hope that helps Good luck David |

This page top right corner is Frank Wallace's plane. I have flown it many times. Excellent plane. There's a video online too. Dave W. |

I have not done this conversion myself, but I think that a Jeti 45/3 ($159 or around $110 used), Jeti JES 40-3P Opto Controller ($ 98.90) on 16 cells ($4.50x16=$72) would also fly it quite well. Not as much raw thrust as the Hacker, but still very respectable. The 45/3 will turn an APC 10x7E prop around 10,000 RPM.

Yep, I fly gas planes, aerobatic and I am thinking of coverting to electric because it is more covenient. BTW, is the AXI 4120/18 outrunner the one that doesn't need a gearbox?
