Do you guys check either of these weather stations before deciding to go to the Tree?

We'll have a fourth IFO in the indoor combat swarm Monday night. Levier successfully maidened his IFO tonight. I have yet to see an IFO that did not fly well.

I didn't make it out flying this morning , but am planning on an afternoon run (2:30ish). I'll probably head out to SDM, to fly the big heli. I could be persuaded another direction though if the offer is good.

Jim...maybe....how is the actual runway out there right now? Would you like to try the base runway? Heck I dunno.

The w/e runway at SDM is mostly dry. The n/s runway not as dry and has patches of grass. Some of the guys were flying off the w/e runway without problems this morning. Currently flying at SDM now. Will be here for at least 2 more hours, if anyone is interested in stopping by. Is breezy, though.

I'm planning on joining Hill and SDM. My brothers fly live in Kaysville and Layton so I could probably get them to SDM, but until they're ready to come with me in Spring I'll most likely just fly up here unless for combat and sloping. My other problem is I seldom get a chance to fly anymore which is why I sold a lot of my planes.

I'm hoping the Hill club can get the pass situation resolved. It's a nice open space. I'd join if I could get on without all the hassle.

Was talking to folks out at SDM today. Several people from the north SLC model port will be joining SDM after the model port closes. I've also been talking up this group with people I meet out there. Some new faces might be showing up Monday evening.

I had an interesting experience two Tuesdays ago. Went out to NURCAC looking for a family friend. Didn't find him, but man was it windy out there. A nasty cold north wind. Yuck! I then drove out to SDM and discovered it wasn't windy at all there. It was chilly, but no north wind. Didn't think I'd get any flying in that day, so it was a nice surprise to find those conditions at SDM. I think I'll watch the weather stations at NURCAC and the one north of SDM compare flying conditions for the two fields over the course of the year.

If you're looking for a friendly face, I'm out at SDM most days. Just PM or email me the day before and setup the time. I check my emails and PMs out at the field too, if you want to head out there on the spur of the moment.
