Holy crap!

Ultra-Micro 4Site (3 min 5 sec)

I'm not sure what elevation this guy was flying at, but if this plane can perform like this at 4400 feet ASL, I'm going to have to get it, even if I've turned my nose up at it previously because it's got a brushed motor. Especially if it's true that they'll be selling a cheaper version without the $40 multi-charger bundled with it, then this could be a must have. And yes, I realize that I will then have about 5 planes with a combined weight that's less than a single flight pack on L Mn's Funster. Tease me all you want, Jonny Boy, but I'll bet you can't fly your Funster in a closet! Or inside a moving car! Or in the shower! (Water turned off, of course.)

I can tell you that Destination Hobbies won't be getting them in. I talked to them last week about the 4site. Some one brought one in and they weren't impressed. They couldn't get it to fly straight and level, only harrier. That guy from the vid is a world class sponsored pilot, so in the hands of mere mortals, our mileage may vary. I've wanted one for a while now too.

I really like that 4 Site. That would be fun to take to work. Even if it doesn't hover, it would be fun for other aerobatics.

I like it, too. Here's a video of me flying it yesterday indoors. I'm not skilled enough to hover long; at this altitude, it needs more power, so I'm going to buy some 25c Hyperion batteries that should work much better. Also, here's another IFO video.

I was forced to fly in the small room while I was waiting for the basketballers to finish using the gym.

I've got two flying alerts to post today:

FLYING ALERT: BARNES PARK, Monday, March 1, from 4:00 pm until dark
.

I'm planning on starting at 4, weather permitting. Several people can't make it til 5, but I'm hoping we'll be able to put together a good combat swarm.

FLYING ALERT: CLASSIC SKATING, Monday, March 1 @ 9:30 pm.

In celebration of the day I was born, not in celebration of getting older, my wife will be bringing birthday treats for all attendees. Yummy!

Sounds like a great B-day celebration, I'm a maybe for the afternoon, but I'll definitely be there for the 9:30pm session.

Cliff, what batteries where you using for your 4 Site? Did it have any vertical?

I've noticed HK had Flight Power 15C lipos but it also had Turnigy 30C lipos for the little single cell BNF planes.

I was using the stock battery, which is 150mAh 12C. Not very good vertical. It can only hold the hover briefly. Thanks for the heads up on hobbycity. I didn't realize they had other batteries besides the 138s. Even thought they're backordered at -20 right now, I ordered a few of the 160mAh 30C. I doubt that they are really 30C or that they are really 160mAh, but I figure they'll perform at least as well as the stock batteries. And if not I can always use them on the Sukhoi, Vapor, or MCX. Heck, I could almost use them on the Zak-Yak.

Jim, yes the vids were with the tooth cam.
