Achtung Spitfire!!! (or Spit XIVE before maiden)

This is probably the best she'll ever look knowing the way I fly...
S&B Spitfire XIVE clipped (one-off/prototype)
AUW 706 grams with 8 cell Kan 950's
Long Can 400, 6.5X4 semi scale props
Two Aileron servos, elevator and throttle.

Too windy to fly today but tomorrow should be better.

Motocalc calculates

it should fly like a trainer with the setup... We'll see...

Sorry about the terrible quality photos

the girlfriend (that flies) is on vacation with her mom and she took the good digital with her. I'm stuck with the Aiptek...

BTW the RX is a GWS 6 channel

All servos are GWS as well...(combination of Pico and Naro)..

For all you scale experts out there... Is this a model, or is it the real thing?

You're right, it's a real Spitfire flying very very low. The prop on the last picture can't be more than 3 or 4 feet off the deck!

Very nice Spitfire, although I really like your Sea Fury. Good luck with the maiden flights.

Hey Flip,
SWEET....Spitfire...Gotta love em... You need some pilots for your planes...

Spitfires are great...

Thanks Brian/mtflyer. I agree, the Sea Fury is the prettiest, the Corsair is the most agile, and the 152 is the most graceful (and easiest to fly). I'm not sure where the Spitty falls yet. She definitely is the heaviest.
I do need pilots for the planes. I've been looking for a pilot that is in panic mode. Y'know, mouth wide open in mid "Oh S%#t" scream, arms off the sticks and covering the face for the inevitable slam into mother earth.
Mtflyer, I am a big Spitfire fan. I think they are the most aesthetically pleasing plane built. I'm considering getting another but this time in the classic brown/green camo scheme and the regular canopy config (not tear drop)... I've been thinking about the GWS Spitty but I've gotten addicted to a little faster and heavier plane since it's so windy around here... Maybe this scheme for the next Spitty..

Well I have to disagree with u on the looks. Since I have flown with u and have seen your planes.....yes the Corsair is nice and looks real good in the air...........the Spitfire wins in looks over all your planes.
Good luck with the maiden. I want to see the Spit flying next weekend.

Hey Flip.
I agree on the Spit... Inbetween rain events I had a chance to fly yesterday for an hour on two flights... I'm getting sick of these rain clouds but the grey cammo is effective.
