Suggestion for Elec. FPV Off-Road 4x4 truck

My first RC truck is a Traxxas Slayer (which is up for sale in the classifides), nice truck but now I have stepped off into FPV and speed is no longer an issue. I need an electric with size and off road capability along with stability. I have been looking around and there does not seem to be any electric 1/8 scale trucks available. I fly mostly Helis and my knowledge of land vehicles is limited. Along with the requirements listed above, I think a scale appearance would be a plus as well as some interior room for additional electronics.

Any advice given would be appreciated.

Very hard to beat the Traxxas Summit for FPV. It's a very solid package right out of
the box and does everything quite well. Search for summit in this forum and
you'll see several threads where people have posted their setups and videos.

Yes, The Summit keeps looking better and better to me all the time....

I also like the 4X4 Slash but it might be a bit fast for off road FPV.

To get a 1/8 scale electric you need a boat load of cash, there are not many 1/8 electric trucks around.

Most 1/8 are nitro/fuel powered...

Just keep in mind that while the Summit is technically 1/10th scale it
pretty much dwarfs all other 1/10th scale trucks in every dimension.

LED's for night FPV, remote locking diff's for when you get stuck, lots of ground clearance, high & low transmission, RTR, plenty of room for electronics and 8000mah lipo's for 70 + minutes of run time. The Summit is the ultimate FPV / RPV 4x4 go anywhere truck in my opinion.

I asked this question a while back and was also suggested the Summit. I love mine! It's so much fun to romp around in the snow.

Coincidentally I picked up a Traxxas Slash 4x4 today for fpv. I had a hard time deciding on this vs. the Summit, but decided I'd rather have a greater speed range at the expense of rock crawling abilities (and less $). I took it out this evening, and it easily handled everything I could throw at it (tall grass, leaves, mud, etc). Not sure how it would handle snow though, luckily we don't get much here in Austin. Plenty of room for the VTX and LRS, low CG so its stable and has a scale look too. Coming from helis and planes, it was very weird only using 2 channels on the receiver...

Seems to me you've limited your speed range rather than expanded it.
With the Summit's two range gearbox it's no slouch speedwise. I very much
doubt that you can FPV drive it comfortably beyond its top speed.
