Art Tech F4U Corsair Spare Parts

All:

Took delivery of an Art Tech F4U Corsair the other day and noticed that the rudder was tweaked and is bent with no hope of straightening...anywhere that has that part in stock?

Nah, most of their body parts, including rudder and stabilizer, are out of stock and on back order. That seems to be the theme on all web sites that carry this plane or it's variants...any ideas? Want to fly my plane but sure can't the way it came.

Thanks,
Don

looks like banana might have some. his corsair has a different paint scheme, but it's an art-tech.

Yeah, from Hobbyking...the rudders are bent like a dead fish and there is no way I can think of to straighten appropriately without breaking it. Thanks for the heads up...just used the link and ordered some.

you're welcome, don, glad you have the parts on the way. that is the one tough thing about orderering planes from hk, hard to do anything about it if it arrives damaged. i had an art-tech corsair for quite a while, it's a great flying plane, enjoy!

Try to hold it hot water, close to the boiling point. This should expand the air in the styro cells and push them into the shape they originally had. If you get to hot you will create an snake like surface, not nice but it can be sanded back.

cheers

Cool trick...will try it...not sure it will work as I think what I may have is the "original" shape.
