in one of the funnel casings put a gutted servo, in the space between them, a big drum attatched to the servo.

Thx Ghost, There will be a winch but lower down,( hope I explain this right) there is going to be a winch house aft of funnel and below level of base of funnels with a couple of small cranes. Some thing like on these deck plans(But jiggled with a tad!)

Just a Question?? on the inside i primed the hull with some Filler (Hempel 599 for grown up boats) Its a kind of Epoxy (its in 2 cans to be mixed) its for soaking into the wood filling, sealing and strenghting it. Shall i put it on on the outside too before the fiberglass or is the fiberglass enough?? In the "manual for the sealer it states "not to be used on gelcoat" so i cant use it on the fiberglass.

Thx Ghost!! She's a fat looking beast

Sharky I would go with just F/g on outside, then use auto body filler, sand it, another coat of resin 2 seal the filler, sand it again until happy. My Tug was resin coated inside hull first (several times!cause I could LOL) then resin outside, sanded, then used the fine glass mat they use for surfboards resin'd that on , then filler until happy with it then more resin!!!

Looks like it has been put above the long beach project.
The primer really shows the shape. Great Job Bruce.

I would bet that the warning about not using it on gelcoat is to make sure it doesn't ruin the gelcoat, more than it will not stick to fiberglass (or the glass wont stick to it). An easy test would be a small piece of plywood (maybe a foot square) put the resin on it then try glassing over it.

Ya the USS Long Beach makes a great bench, gives a good impression of how big the Tug is compared 2 the Heavy Cruiser!
When my Tax return check turns up I will be sendin ya an order for Bow bumper rubber and Some of your LED flood lights!! They R perfect for some lighting job's I have in mind!

Cheers Bruce

Cos918 (John) Tug is loosely based on SEMCO's 75m AHST "Salvanguard" except I have redesigned the bridge so it is unique.

Ghostie go forth and modify!! Its Refit time!!

Tico I started this tug back in Summer!! I had'nt touched it for about 3 months ( as evidenced by all the dust!! when I cleaned it) Pacific Responder would make a sweet tug!! Consider it for your next project after Varyag's hull is done.

Cheers Bruce
