Yes, I know it's upside down.

What's wrong with being an idiot? Helps make the rest of us look smart.

The flight mode switch and the flaps switch are both three position switches.

Has JR done away with the internal storage battery that has to be replaced every few seasons like my 8103 does?

So, just to confirm the only difference between the Air and Heli models are?
1. Ratchet throttle
2. Default model type
3. Little picture on the case

Nope!

Switch type and functions!

And, no real way to get a good translation between the two .

I know cause I'm trying to do a Heli w/Air TX -- get a funky error right off the bat; as the flap switch becomes flight mode and thinks it outght to be "up" not centered.

No longer have an on board battery for memory.

Found this HE TX photo in someone's posting; couldn't find it via HH/JR -- website or via manual.

Still not sure what happens w/Flap Trim in HE mode -- the switch is changed to flight mode; the trom button is lsted as HOV TRIM on HE.

Lool what they usta do for the 652; too bad they don't today!

As I said been tyring to get a 400 3D going and have found HH CS useless -- The Manual is right!!! When I asked how is it possible since the RX is 6 ch, and the function they said worked per the manual used #7 -- click!

I fly my helis on an air version dx7 now and I use the rudd rate switch on the right for throttle hold. I have my brain trained to use it and if I upgrade to the 9503 I would want it to be in the same position. So does it matter if it's air or heli in setting up this switch?

Here's what I've learned so far about Air TX w/Heli:

A -- Flap switch becomes Flight Mode
B -- Gear switch still does #5
C -- Mix switch does throttle hold

Still haven't figure our what these do in Heli mode on an Air TX:
Flap Trim
Trainer button
Aux 2 & trim
Left & Right knobs/sliders

This pdf might be of help too.

This is a nice radio, but why aren't these dedicated 2.4ghz radios coming with the hook in the right place to balance them?

I tell her RC is cheap !
carguy1994ca's Avatar
Because they were designed as 72mHz radio first and the weight of the antenna made the hook needed higher on the facia of the radio. They were upgraded to 2.4 later. The new 11x is a brand new design and is balanced correctly for 2,4 as it was designed from the start for 2.4.

Perfect! Just the way I have things setup on the dx7 but the switch for Hold on this will be much bigger and easier to "find" in a panic

Air TX's Flap Trim becomes HOV PITCH in Heli mode which Trims collective/pitch moving all CCPM servos above below center.

Latest AMA magazine (6/2010) has good photos of Heli TX -- On Heli TX the swith in the spot of Air TX's Aux2 Trim is called HOV THRO.

Well, I took the plunge into 2.4 and supported my local hobby shop. She's just coming off the first charge now

Question: Would I use a "Y" Harness for the flap servos, or plug each into a different channel? Directions don't say. And where is the directions for the timer function? I must have missed it in my haste.

I imagine you'd need a servo reverser if you were to use only one channel for flaps.
