Anybody seen a dual swingarm RC bike?

Hi...

I´m thinking if anybody (other than Pumilio...) tried to build a dual swingarm RC bike...

I´m doing this at the small 1/8 scale and I have found several issues to comment about the front steering/suspension/geometry.

Any help and links will be appreciated.

Occasional useful idiot...
Do you mean a hossack type front end you are trying?
The TT SB-5 has one, wait a few weeks for the launch then just copy it from a picture and scale it down.
You could always look here for inspiration www.tonyfoale.com the article 'Steering for the future' is quiet interesting.

Yes I saw this one too. I dont want to know how much energy went into it. I am having trouble handling the design on my little bike.... It worked well as far as I can recall.

Thank you all.

I´ll post some pics of my design soon, but I have to tell you that it´s a lot different (mono leg, in fact...) and I´m working to keep front trail constant during suspension compression.

As far I can see, the proto you´ve seen in Germany adds trail when compressing front suspension...

Mine not...

I've built a Hossack style front end for my speed bike, double wishbones and constant trail.Biggest problem apart from my over engineering it was coupling the steering servo, ended up with a steering servo that moves up and down with the compression.
I built it to lower the frontal area. Not got any pics because I haven't tested it yet.

Incredible...

The Ricky Carmichael steering system rotated 90º and fitted to a full size road bike...

Funny conversion.

Just a pic of my design...

Rear end with motor mount, no final swingarm displayed (OTO unit will fit...)

the problem with RC is lack of space. so many little mechanical bits that need to be crammed into a small wheel.

Ok Thanks Torrance. I did wonder why.

See you in France,

Another tip from my design...

Front wheel

This is a 2.15" front wheel from a BJ Concepts B4 off road buggy. Plenty of room inside to place the steering system, even when narrowed to the standard 1/8 bike front wheel size....

Remember, I said "mono leg".

2.15" is 54.61mm. i measured my OTO front rim and it is 55mm. those wheels should work!
