cheers

Cannot see a problem I have used a kfm2 and a built up section and aero andy and several others have used KFm on some
The KFm3 would make the wing a lot stronger as my camo jeckel gets" KFm cracks "on the thinner section go for 3 thicknesses two thickness back to the ailerons and it should work well with a carbon spar buried in the middle

See the first page for the photos of finished planes

Miki, nice effort there mate.
You went to a lot of effort with the CAD drawings etc.
I just start with a 3 view, calculator, some foam and a knife.
And make lots of mistakes along the way

Twins can be very addictive.
This is my latest effort and 3rd twin so far.
I used the Jackal wing as the basis.

Both the Spartan and the Bronco look great! Good idea to re-use WMD's wing design - works great and is very easy to build, wouldn't bother with KFM2.

Almost 18 months old and still as good to fly as ever.

Tried an under-wing mount for the video camera. Not very exciting, just liked how it captures the nose leg cycling up and down .

As you can see by the landing it's not steerable - and the rudder can't overcome the grip of the astroturf strip .

I like the original Jackal Twin Wing Design... Simplicity. Also great that you did the design in Sketchup. I just completed a Foamie Hog Bipe design in Sketchup also.

Correx version

Here is another Jackal/ Partenavia inspired variant. Was about to build a B25 as a first twin, but found this thread and used this design as the basis instead - seemed simple to build and a proven performer.

Basically its a 125% Jackal with the fuselage widened to be closer to the P68's dimensions and a Twin Otter nose and (all terrain!) wheels added. The nose wheel castors and differential thrust allows for ground manoeuvring. I also made the wing chord constant as I have separate ailerons and flaps...the outer end of the Jackal's tapered flaperons just looked too small for ailerons. Construction is primarily 2mm correx (its much cheaper than Depron here and suited to building a fuselage with a rounded cross-section).

AUW with the standard Jackal power set-up is around 870-880g. The two E-Max's provide way more power than needed.

I've been looking at this plane for a while now and finally got most of the parts together to start building. It's ashame the thread has been quiet for a while, so hopefully I can try and get it going again. It's a great looking plane, the only thing I may do is to widen the body a little to fit a bomb drop or GoPro camera bay.
The one thing I'm struggling to find it the counter rotating prop.... Anyone know where i can find them in Europe, OR has any one had success with the two props swinging the same way?

I'll hopefully make a start in the next couple of weeks.....

Giantshark has the props in stock and they are NOT expensive get a couple of pairs at a time they are about 2E a pair , also have the 2812 2822 motors in stock ,
with both props going the same way you will get a torque swing on power up
see post earlier in the thread

I still have all 3 of mine , been sidetracked for a while building recumbent trikes ( see blog )
They are good fun machines

Thank you Emma

I've looked again of the Giant Shark website and still can not find the right props, if you find th send me a link. I got all the electronics already from there, great service.
I like you variations on this plane that you made, I'm hoping that I can get a bomb dropper to work out OK.

I'll have to do an order from HobbyKing Europe, I just hope that there don't take the usual week to put them in the post!!

Cheers for you help all....

this is what I used plenty of power with 2812 motors and 1800 3s lipo
after takeoff you can go down to 1/2 throttle and still climb

http://www.giantshark.co.uk/product/...ating-sf-props

The 3 jackal / jeckel and camo jeckel are still in service , and the MIG is still unfinished but if I dont build another model I have enough for the next 10 years

Still got a pair of slec bombs to fit on the camo one they will look like tallboys

now I have another pair of trike wheels to build
