Professional idiot
Since we use Depron where you use Fan-Fold and vice versa I thought I would include this.

Fuselage, tail feathers, wing tips, ailerons and ribs are all foam, little bit of 1/8'th Balsa elsewhere.

You guys are so conventional...

Here's mine,

I get 15 minute flights, and full vertical. Inverted flight leaves a little to be desired, but It sure attracts attention!

Seriously though, it's a fun plane. But I'm working on a more conventional 3D design too.

yeah i guess the rest of us are fairly 'conventional' compared to that plane... lol

quick question: when doing fan fold wings (non flat plate), do you make normal ribs and then sheet them with more foam? all these designs look great! i might post a screen shot off my design program (proDESKTOP) of my new design some time today or tommorow.

It's simpler than that

Guys, when I want to do a full airfoil (top and bottom) wing, I just use a single spar running the length of the wing. No need for ribs unless you're trying to force the wing into a very specific airfoil. I find that the one that forms naturally works great for most applications. And, you do have some control over it after all...

thanx a lot that pans out a bunch of other questions... here is a pic of my own design; but this one isn't done yet. still refining the lines. i was also wondering if you thought the control surfaces were large enough for really good 3d. thanx. also, keep the pics coming of other aerobatic fan fold planes!!

Nice shark hippo! What kind of motor are you running? eps 300c?
Is there a spar running through the body? Whats the wingspan and chord? is it a full airfoil? Thats is a really cool plane!
Thanks,
Alex
