Instead of sheeting that Nemesis, you cut add a couple more stringers and just cover over with Monokote??

Dave,

Yep..thats a possibility. I wanted the smooth sheeted look to mirror the full scale as much as possible. I've sheeted it now and it wasn't nearly as bad as I had feared.

I actually haven't done much on it for a few days. I'm finishing up a set of plans for a customer, so thats taken the majority of my time. I plan to work on it later today and will post some picks tonight.

Slowly but surely. The top is rounded and the hatch fits nicely. Pushrod housings in and bottom sheeting is on. It wasn't all that bad really, I did it in a couple of sections and it went smooth. Tiny bit more sanding and it's ready to cover.

I cut a new tail. I realized that the jigsaw puzzle build method was really cool, but it was overkill for this plane and really added a lot of laser time. So I simplified it and raised the vertical at the same time. I think it looks more in porportion with the horizontal now.

I have the core blanks cut. Hopefully I can finish them tomorrow. I have to wait on sheeting them til my joiner tubes get here later in the week.

That looks great Alien Tech, nice work.

Really getting excited about finishing my Toni up, trying to find a color scheme with Metallic Green trim that I like.

Gent's i have enjoyed reading this thread. And was looking forward to making an attempt at this sport. As I have never flowen Pylon I was excited and looking forward to learning with this new venue that was being offerd. But after reading all the bickering and complaining about the rules. How to work around them. It has soured my outlook to the point of saying forget it! If this is the way it is going to be i dont want to be involved. All i wanted to do was go out have a ship i could buy and be some what competative with. But all i see is another repeat of quicky 500. So thanks for the rollercoaster ride and i 'll just go back to sport flying!!!

Lite,

I had a really long nice reply typed out but my browser ate it. Anyway, you should stick it out and give racing a shot. There will be competitive setups available shortly from several sources. This class is simply too cool to walk away from because of some disagreements over rules. The dust will settle and everyone will have a ball.

Two of Jerrys Little Toni Wings, one for me and one for Daven. Used 1/64 Ply on trailing edge, good to sand to and very sharp, no drag. If you build a wing for Daven you need skined hinges. Hope you can see in picture.
