Everytime I get on RCG and search for information, invariable pages from this thread pop up. You guys know everything.

I tried to correlate equivalents for 2 stk, 4stk, and 2stk Gas. I looked at a number of plane Mfg recommendations on 2stk/4stk engines for a given plane. There was too much variation to make good conclusions.

What is worse, is now I see planes that say things like, "Recommended Engine: .90 to 1.2 two or four stroke". Obviously, a 1.2 two stroke is not the same as a 1.2 four stroke. It makes it pretty difficult to choose engines I think. With the introduction of more variation in smaller GAS engines, This also adds confusion for me.

It would be great if there was a standard for specifying HP but there isnt. I see some people just looking for the same displacement but that does not work.

Converting to electric is pretty easy, I think, if you know the glow engine you want or you can use the xxx Watts/pound technique.

I was wondering if any of you have had any luck with this.

I guess this would be even more complicated by "is it a 2 stroke Gas with electronic ignitions or with a Mag" since the weight would be different. You are right, this is a moving target unless you are buying an airframe that is 50CC, no brainer, put a 75CC on it.

I think a 75cc would tear my 50cc YAK apart!

I never consider the Mag engines. The weight is a big enough problem on EI engines. I for got to mention the four stroke gassers too. I would not pay for those though. I am too cheap.

um .. er,... well you see the thing is,
I've been assembling my twist 40 and its getting close. Everything is in it except the rx and rx batt. And after I had it all together I felt it was just too porky for my 46. So I dropped the 61fx in there. I had to spread the cheeks ( I know, bad image) a bit but I mamaged to make it all fit. Seems pretty solid too. So that's it. my Twist 40 is gonna be a rocket!

Hey all! Work has been kicking my butt lately so I haven't had the chance to catch up! Parts are arriving daily......
I've been dealing with this one utilization review biotch from CA that's been bustin' my bawls........I can't imagine paying an insurance company good money for so many years only for them to biotch and whine about every fn thing! Woe be it the person with SC_N Healthpl_n! They might ok a nights stay if you have the fn surgeon generalisimo sign off on it in blood and promising his first born to the company! What a racket! Insurance Co's sucre mon derriere! Peace to all us sheep.

Dad, which citabria do you have? Love that plane! Scale planes like that are a magnet for my G26 because the extra weight helps with the cg.

Wayne, that 15 cc looks really nice. Don't think I've seen that one before. Got my eye on a DLE 20.....

I pulled the trigger on that 15cc, the DLE-20, and the DLE-30V2. I hope the 15 and 30 get here by Friday. The DLE-20 is supposed to ship this month.

I am thinking about an Aeroworks 120 YAK for the 30. Not completely decided on the 20 yet.

I have a spare wing for the tt60 so I get more than one chance. Only problem is, it is usually the fuse that goes down.
