Outlaw you sound like me.
Well it was a twisted twisted sunday. And I managed to crash 2 planes and nerither one was mine. 1st off the weather man lied. it was windy. Now I only took the twist and the little flat foamie mx. But I stopped by and picked up the club trainer for our youngest memeber Thomas whose only 10 years old. Him and his mother came out to the little farm and boy that little boy did a great job off flying. His mother had to take off for a little bit and while she was gone , we fired up the kadet senior. Wouldn't you know it after it started up and the center pin on the glow plug broke. He flew her for like 10 minutes then I landed it. Now no one had another 4 stroke plug so poor Thomas was grounded. When his mother showed up, I told her son was grounded. She looked at me and then at him and just when she was about to chew on him I told her the motor was broke and that was why he was grounded. She had a good laugh at that. Now after the wind died down alittle I brought out the lil MX and let Dan an Dan fly it. The one Dan had a flat foamie that he scratched built but didn't have all the carbon fiber like mine. So he wanted me to fly it. Wouldn't you know it after flying it for a few minutes I tried rolling it and she went in busting the tar out of the nose. Then later we were all trying some formation flying. K49 alias LT Dan had his easy star and the other Dan let me fly his foamie like trainer, while he flew the hobby zone super cub. I'd been up about 4 or 5 minutes when she lost bind or somthing and just spiraled in. Now the twist was her usual self butr I wasn't able to quite get her to flatten out on her flat spin. Now K49 did manage to step on his Tango while flying his easy star. Itr seemed he had locked wings with the other Dans plane and they were spiraling down together. He was laughing so hard he stepped back and right on his Tango. Now the last incident was Thomas's mother ran over the club trainers tx. Seems everyone was so busy talking to her that the tx got left out on the ground by her SUV. Isn't it funny how when a cute woman is around our attention is altered. Now the clouds kept us from seeing the solar eclispe. I thought for sure we were going to see it |

o snowy I only wish. you see I've been telling momma all about the 71 inch slick from 3dhs.
She asked me if I thought she was a mushroom and feeding her alot of pooh. I even showed her a video of just how well it harriers with no wing rock. I think what got her was it's only 439 dollars and if I buy it at the FLI convention I can save 75 dollars on the cost of shipping. Of course I need an OS 33 to go with it and it's another 350 bucks. O poor poor momma. All she wants is a nice car to drive, and flowers for the deck. |

Well, Kerwin.........that 71 Slick would be yours if you didn't write about cute women at the field! Heck, you're probably sleep-talking and going on and on about what great bombs she has!
Speaking of Boobs......I once learned that the origin of the word "Boob" comes from the physical attributes of each letter....here's how: the "B" represents the top view, the "oo" represent the front view, and the lower case "b" represents the side view. That concludes our lesson on boobs for today. |

hey guys, happy monday morning! Good to hear all the great flight reports...Kerwin, every time I read one of your sagas (posts), I'm more interested to meet you and hear you in person at the FLI coming soon! And don't worry, I can fly your plane around in a circle while your fingers and wrists uncramp...that happens to me sometimes too, I know how that feels.
I had a great weekend, started off on Friday night with my son's party, and that was a lot of fun...we ended it with a campfire in the back yard, roasting marshmallows and eating s'mores...then at the end of the night, my wife and I had about 20 minutes of quiet time (read: all the wild and crazy teenagers had been brought home, and my two kids were relaxing in front of their computers) sitting in front of a campfire enjoying the flames and relaxing...in peace and quiet... Saturday morning saw me at the flying field by 8am, flying the 58" Edge and having fun learning how this plane flies...I've only got 8 flights on it so far...it takes me a good while to "get used" to how an airframe behaves...this one loves to harrier and flat spin and blender...need to tweak the rudder because knife edge is weak...I think the pull-pull cables are too loose...but I can fix that. This plane was fun to fly. Then on to the Su-26...spent over an hour tweaking it and setting up the throttle and the throttle curve on my radio...and reversing the throttle servo so that off was off and on was on...which helped greatly with starting. Finally got it running and took off...plane flew pretty good, but seemed a little rich on the low end...so I landed it, and tweaked the low speed mixture in "just a hair"...and took off again, and the engine died just as it pulled up...so I kept it level and landed it in the farm field...checked the damage...prop and landing gear...not too bad...got it home and reglued the landing gear on Saturday evening...still need to fashion a lower motor box plate, since the original one got pretty trashed this time. Also, took off the wheel "teardrops" because I'm tired of them poking holes in the bottom of the wing when a hard landing happens. So the Su-26 will be flying again next weekend, I'm confident. I didn't get as upset this time because I'm getting used to it, and because it is not that hard to fix the landing gear on this thing. I could have had it done Saturday night, but instead, I took my boys to see Avengers after we went to church. (My teenagers are much more open minded about church on Saturday evenings as opposed to Sunday mornings; they like their sleep ) Avengers was a good movie, for sure. Sunday morning was another fine, sunny day....but a bit windy. Took my 58" Edge out again, and my 51" Slick. Winds were 15-20 and others were afraid to fly, but I had alot of fun. Flew some fun flights on the 58" Edge and got some one to take a video...some of the shots are in focus, so I'll post that soon. I took some videos of other club members flying too; I'll post those as well. The 51 Slick was especially fun doing flat spins and inverted harriers (up high because the wind made it a bit dicey to do those down low, and I'm still chicken about those, even on a calm day). The funnest maneuver was a stationary knife-edge hover...got it into knife edge and then as I came across the field, backed off slightly on the power, and was able to hold it in the wind in knife edge...looked really cool, and was quite fun to do...landings were just a blast with that wind...elevator right down to the ground to a super smooth landing. Good day, good flying...got a little too much sun...seems like we went from cloudy and 50deg. to sunny and 90deg in one week. :O Sounds like everyone who went to Joe Nall; I know the videos that I've seen so far have been incredible. Have a great Monday everyone! |
