http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXHZ20&P=ML Not anymore! My wife (bless her heart) got busy on her sewing machine and made me an even dozen! (On her day off!) I've got all this covering to do.....and the stuff I'm using (Monokote) doesn't like to seal unless the irons hot.......and those socks don't last! Is that your experience fellas?

I just went and bought a pack of baby socks. They're soft and fairly cheap. One gets dirty just swap out for a new one. If you do it right you get 3-4 iron sock uses out of one baby sock.

Snowman if one does alittle shopping you can really get the prices down. I paid 5.50 for a regulator that way I can run 1 battery and 19 for the remote kill.
Of course what you don't know is you have to have metal geared servos for a gasser.
While there is some expense setting up a gasser. at under 5 bucks a gallon for fuel and it sips fuel like a 25 size nitro, it won't take to long to get the expense back down.
Still a big OS glow will cost you that unless you buy used.
Now thats where the difference is. Glow engines do not hold they're value and are cheap to buy. I had a zenoah g62 that I paid 325 for in 92 and they still go for 325 used.

On my radio everything works fine as long as it's a futaba rx. As soon as I change to hitec those digitals and my remote kill switch don't like it.

Wow! Maybe the wire was too small or the solder joint was High R. I can see the plastic of the Dean's melting but getting to 600 or 700F to melt the solder is wild!

Yea, 300 to 350F for Monokote can use them up. I don't take the old one off. I just put the new one on up to three. My Mom made me a box of them from pillow cases or sheets or something. 100% cotton and they work well. You have to be careful with synthetics that might have a low melt temp.

Ug, I am not a Hitech fan anyway.

I forgot to mention, if you think you have interference from long extensions, switching BECs/regulators, etc., you can get some snap-on chokes reasonable. Horizon sells some branded JR. They are easier to install vs. using torroid rings. I had a problem on the Funtana 125 with one of the elevator servos. I installed a snap-on choke back in the servo lead and solved the problem. It is good for throttle servos, remote kill leads, ESC leads, and servos with long extensions. I am not talking about RF interference between the TX and RX. This is other on-board generated interference.

I'm getting rdy for a little dutch oven throw-down tonight. My church has a get together every year with just dads and sons. The last couple years we have had this desert cook-off w/ dutch ovens. I am making a double crust apple pie with a crumbly topping a-la-mode. Wish me luck
