Nice moon shot for sure Wayne love those space shots.

Well I started my edge finally last night I'm in serious need of a complete plane build as in about 30 minutes the wing was almost completed minus the linkage. I usually do all that at the end.

I think I'm going to blow through this edge in a couple of nights and see if I can get my Ultimate bipe started I want to BUILD something, besides of course my blood pressure from working oin stupid house projects i hopefully won't be around to see or use anymore lol

Nice shot Daniel!

Looking good Waldo, can't wait for the maiden video!

I'm thinking hard about pulling the trigger on a Sabre 47 and giving the AW Freestyle to someone I don't like very much! Thoughts?

We have several Sabers in our club and they are outstanding for a profile ARF...

I too am thinking about maybe a sabre or maybe even build a MoJo. But thats in the future.
Right now I'm going to fix the planes I have and put my money in my property.
I'd really like to have a nice home that I don't owe on.
My property is paid for and I have a 30 by 30 building with electricty and water in it.
I hate paying rent.
Momma says once she gets a nice car and our home buitl then I can go RC hog wild

Nice!

I can't do photos like that. I don't have the camera for it anymore.

I am looking at options though.

Both of my designs are simple and cheap. You don't need any special tools. I used a piece of angle aluminum and a piece of channel aluminum. The channel is plywood edging. I bought the aluminum from Lowes.

OK, Here is the stuff on the banner/tow release I made:

The tow released is mounted at approximately the CG on the bottom behind the main gear. Note: I modified my Kadet Senior to a tail dragger so the main gear is at the leading edge of the wing.

The release is bolted through the new main gear block.

The flag has a 1/4" dowel inserted in the leading egde. I have a 3" wheel on the bottom and a light 2" on the top. This is to make the bottom heavier so it does not twist in the wind.

I started with a 30ft tow line made of 50lb test fishing line, the black braided stuff. After the first flight, I added 10'. I liked it better farther behind the plane. I used a large fishing swivel on the tow line where it attaches to the release. This is to make sure it is easy to come off. Just a loop in the line gets stuck.

There is a bridle on the flag just like a kite. It is about 1.5 x the height of the flag. I drilled holes in the dowel on the top and bottom and tied it off.

You need an attachment point for the tow line. I read suggestions of putting the loop at 1/3 of the length of the bridle from the top. If you looked at the first flight video, you can see that the top is leading the bottom on the flag. I wanted it to pull straighter so for the second flight, I moved the attachment point down by shortening the bottom of the bridle. I think about 40% down from the top is a good starting point.

Banner Tow Release for a Sig Kadet Senior (5 min 54 sec)

Here is the sail plane tow release:

The sail plane release is basically the same as the flag but it is mounted on the top. The sail plane can get higher than the tow plane without affecting the flight. Again, you need a big swivel at the attachment to the plane to ensure it comes loose.

Then use the standard attachment methods to the sail plane. Look at the RC aerotow or other site for how that works.

Hope this helps.
