Infrared Thermometers: which one do you use?


These are sometimes known as IR Guns. There are a lot of these out there, ranging in price from $25 to $2500+. I would like to know which one you are using and how do you like it.

I found a PocketTherm CP7875 sold at Advance Autoparts.
It was $10

I have been measureing, Nitro, Gas engine as well as Lipo and BL motor temps at the end of flights.

If you are on the harbor freight mailing list they had a coupon last month to get one for $5. http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa/...o?itemid=93983 regular price is under $20.
It looks a lot like the one sold under the DuraTrax label at Tower Hobby...

I have an HPI one that i got from tower hobby for $20. I like it, temp is accurate enough to set my covering iron to.

I got my first at Radioshack, pocket-sized, works really well and I now use it in the kitchen. I bought a Ray Temp 8 used here, also works great, and has a laser for pinpointing what you are trying to measure. Works better in tight areas, like inside a sailplane fuselage.
