Cool

Got my new Battman charger from OKHOBBY.HK today

This is identical to the Turnigy Accucell 6 and comes with a nice assortment of cables.

Menu system is IDENTICAL to the accucell 6 and 8.

http://www.okhobby.hk/product.php?id_product=1040

It was on sale for $19.99 but it appears that the sale is over.
Perhaps send them an email since their home page still shows it at $19.99

Hobbycity's accucell 6 is $44.99 + $4.95 priority mail at the USA warehouse..sold out. Total would be $49.94

Price from Hobbycity in HK is $33.99 plus $12.12 Registered airmail.
Total would be $46.11

If you were to buy it from OKHOBBY.HK the total shipped price would be
$29.99 + $9.62 shipping
Total is $39.61 (again, check with them for the $19.99 sale)

They are doing a package special with the charger and an ac adapter, but if you have a power supply, the kit comes with a cable to plug this into your external 12v power supply.

Pics in a few...I'm doing a test charge.

Again, the menu system is identical to the accucell 6 so this is just the same unit with a different label on it.

Save some money and get it from OKHOBBY.HK. They ship quicker than Hobbycity as well.

EDIT: Update on pricing 1/29/2010

An Update!!

Currently, the price is $24.99 for the Battman B6-50w
If you purchase this charger from OKHOBBY.HK and write up a review in the comments section for this item, OKHOBBY will credit your account $5 good towards your next purchase.

This brings your end price down to $19.99 and I think we can all agree that this is an outstanding price for whats turning out to be a quality and accurate small charger.

This one is quiet. Whisper quiet.

The fan on my accucell 8 is much louder.

Just finished charging a couple newish 3s 2200mAh packs.

Balancing on my unit is spot on. Awesome unit for the $29.99 list cost.

Regarding the fan. Mine is whisper quiet.
Since its about 45 degrees in my garage, I don't know if the fan is speed/temp controlled where it may spin faster if the internal temp rises, but mine is night and day different/quiet as compared to my Turnigy charger.

here are some pics. Forgive the quality. The shiny protector on the lcd screen, coupled with the back lit lcd panel was giving my camera fits.

One thing I wanted to add.

The customer service from OKHOBBY was fantastic.

I had a couple questions on some hardware and this charger, and received replies very quickly given the time difference. Understand that they are in Hong Kong, so the best time to email them is in the late afternoon your time (USA time), and when you wake up, you should have a response from them.

Charger

Battman 6 plus power supply from OK Hobby now $27.99 plus $14.94 Air Parcel rate [6 - 14 days] = $42.93

Hobby King, no power supply, $33.99 plus $4.99 = $38.98 via your overworked mailman in 2 - 3 days.

Decisions, decisions.

Oops = HK has to send from HK by registered air, 10 - 30 days.

Wonder why your OKHOBBY shipping price to Newark, NJ is much higher than my shipping price to Seattle, WA.
(EDIT) must be the extra weight of the power supply.

Regarding your Hobby King price with shipping.
Are you sure youhave the right price for shipping?
the $33.99 price is from Hobbycity from Hong Kong. Thats $12.12 registered air mail shipping from Hong Kong.

The USA warehouse price is $47.99 and its out of stock
This is the only way I see you would have $4.99 shipping with USPS 2-3 day shipping.

Individual cell voltage a couple hours after I finished the charge.

all cells were at 4.19v as measured from the tap pairs.

Balance charge works fine with the Battman charger.

Great! Now if only "Battman" can come up with a similarly economical 10A balance charger, I'd be all over it. I already have several lower output balance chargers but really need a higher output unit for larger and newer packs with charge rates of 2C and up.
