Sure looks like a S107 to me, though the pic isn't very clear.

Looks like one to me as well.

As for the "I just need to get another heli" problem, there are much worse hobbies. This one is good for hand eye coordination, working on fine mechanical things, and flying releases stress. It sure is much cheaper than going to a shrink...

Hmmmm, My FireBird's (Nellie & Hughes 300 modded) have well over 70+ flights on each and they charge and run strong like new. I only fly each around 3 min max on each and let them cool well over an hour before re-charging. I only charge on a USB to computer. This is all as per KillB's recomendation.

Cool! You won't believe this but I am going to be doing #55 in just a few minutes!

Happy flying,
Ed

Why buy from them for $39 when you can get one via Amazon for $29 (and sometimes a bit less)???? And a "real" S107 to boot...

just got my sh 6020-1 and it is in NO way better than the S107. It's heavier and more sluggish and probably like a half inch bigger. Although plenty of room under the canopy for a 240 mAh battery.... maybe that'll help. Although probably not.

Someone said 6020 was faster forward than 107. Is it, salazam?

No back/forward - blown FET

UPDATE: this is likely to be a Syma clone.

I broke half of the rear propeller. So I tried to replace it by pulling it off the rear motor, and the rear motor came apart.

I think I must have tried to fly the heli in that state, because now the H-bridge FET transistors are blown... presumably because the brushes of the rear motor were short-circuited (no rotor between them).

Moral: be careful replacing the rear propeller!

Fortunately I still have 4 other S107's left - I bought a few to hack

Here are some pictures of the main heli circuit board (This revision has 2.1mm diameter barrel plug for charging - not same as s107-18 pictures I have seen elsewhere).

The Gyro is an Invensense ISZ 650.

Shock: Very cool that you can see the IR!

Photos of remote control internals

UPDATE: this is likely to be a Syma clone.

This is the Remote Control revision that has a 2.1mm diameter barrel plug for charging the s107 heli (other versions have a rectangular two pin plug). Probably similar to those already posted, but another set of photos can't hurt!

Removing the throttle return spring on this revision is a bit difficult - it is not on the outside of the joystick metal support case.

Instead you have to forcibly wrench it out from inside of the joystick metal support case (don't let it ping back inside, or it is very difficult to get hold of again, and the throttle won't move freely).

I'm FAMOUS
Cost-Reduction strikes! I bet it's cheaper to use the new part, even though IT is probably costlier than the old injection-molded plastics.

A Human had to place and lube those.

Has it already been confirmed that helis with a round plug are genuine Syma? Both my rev 3 and rev 5 have a square plug.
