Adam,

Wings have kerf compensation. There is a configuration for the diameter of the wire cut. Fuselage parts currently do not have it.

Are you able to have an seperate/different kerf compensation for the tip and the root?

Can .dxf formats be imported?

No. It is the same across. However, there is an option when designing the wing that allows you to keep the same thickness from root to tip, by proportionally deforming the airfoil at the wingtip. I use this when cutting small wings, or highly tapered wings.

Upper tower support

GRC159(Freddy) In your video cutting out the x29 section you quickly panned over the upper support of the cnc foam cutting machine, I happen to have a similar machine built from pdf plans bought online. Could you photograph the top of your support structure for us? Your software is very good.

Just had a quick look at an e-bay listing for TJzoide from Fredy and it lists for $39. Not bad for what seems to be a fairly easy to use program.

Try doing a google search for TJoide. It will bring up an auction from another country.

Fredy, Interesting software........Which boards will it drive? I have the MM2001 board that works with GMFC, but also have CNCHobby board. Some of your tutorials have volumn problems....The price is very reasonable.

Hi Steve,

Not yet, have not had the funds to do much other than work with the projects on hand at the moment. When I started this thread i was looking for software that would be a little more intuitive than GMFC and the one that i have been able to look at that is a little easier to work with is CeNeCe, I only have a downloaded version that is limited in time which has expired but during the time I played with it I was impressed in its feedback for wire path. Nice graphics, cutting requires a liscensed version IIRC.

I have an X32 that is just about ready to cut and will use GMFC to cut it. I have a thread on it in my blog and the scratchbuild forum. The outlines will be PDF so others can hand cut it if they want one.

The program drives the parallel port directly. At this time only windows XP for driving the machine, and XP or Vista for making the design.
I would suggest adding an intermediate step to export cut data as G-code. This would multiply the potential customer base by not being bound to OS and specific maschines.
I will not start cluttering this thread about discussing Windows as a controller software

I'm personally using a non-karthesian foam cutter maschine (hotwinch based on 4 ceiling mounted winches) and would NEED intermediate G-code to work with.

P.S. as for other usable programs don't forget ProfiliPro v2.
Also it seems DevFuse from the same author can output 4-achsis G-code.
