Mega Power or Fusion Dual Port charger

Does anyone have experience with the Fusion dual port or Mega Power Gemini chargers?

Two outputs with 300w each and balancing is appealing.

Anyone know a reputable seller of this charger that ships to the US? Heli-pro doesn't list USA under shipping info. Based on reviews over at RunRyder, helipross seems shady.

Also, does Megapower have a website? Do they have new firmware for this charger? The logicrc version has new firmware.

The charger is most probably made by SJ ProPo whose products are sold under quite a few brand names. As of today, this new model is not listed on their website: http://www.sjproporc.com/ You could try emailing them to see if there is any support available there.

Does SJ ProPo make the Hyperion chargers? The following looks pretty familiar...

I noticed USA wasn't in the list of countries, seemed really odd to me too.

Time will tell if some US retailers get it it as I think it is pretty new.

I would certainly like to review one if I could get my hands on one.

Problem is there has not been any repair service for these chargers. SJ ProPo from what I understand requires the OEM to handle the service. I have never been able to find where Megapower is located and they don't list their contact information in the manuals from what I have found. Fusion is a UK company. Spec's for the charger look good.

Very true. I would have loved to find a deal on the Hyperion Duo 2 when they were clearing out.

Megapower coming in the mail.

I ordered the Megapower from heliopross....
About a week ago and I am eagerly awaiting it in the mail.
I will try to do a review as soon as I get it, but I am still trying to work out what power supply.

Good candidates include:

Mastech Power Supply HY3030EX (0-30V/0-30A, 900W) Over Voltage Over Current Protection ~$260
Meanwell SE-1000-24 (24V/42A, 1000W) ~$230
IOTA DLS-27-40 (27V/40A, 1100W) ~$390

Of the three I much prefer the Mastech with its benchtop design (rather than a modular cage with exposed terminals), variable voltage (so you can run other chargers at say 15V instead) and built-in meters.

Otherwise there is a thread about how to find and use a pair of surplus PC server supplies in series to make a cheap 24V/50A supply for under $100. This is not for the faint hearted or those unfamiliar with the dangers of floating cases (and if you don't know what that means, then it is even less likely to be a good idea to try this at home).

Is anyone actually using this charger yet?

I've downloaded and read through the manual, it has a LiPo store mode option.
But it only seems to charge or discharge to 60% which is what 2.5v.

As the LiPo's should be stored at least 3.7v ideally 3.85v this seems a bit odd to me.

So if your using this charger is this correct?
If so is it adjustable?

Cheers
Mark

I imagine they mean 60% capacity, not volts. The discharge porbably balances to 3.7v.

Found a web site that is selling/pre ordering the Mega Power Gemini Duo 2014 300W + 300W charger. Pre order price is $145 plus shipping.

They are reputable and I've personally ordered and received parts from them, as have others.

Been waiting for this charger to hit the shelves at a nice price.

Wow. That's a kick butt price. Shipping to the US is $25 for parcel post and $40 for EMS.
