Beware the Axis of Weasel.

The other thing is they'd be easy to mount, just wrap the motor in some 1/32 balsa (0.8mm) and you'd be 0.1mm over which would give a nice snug fit.

What's the weight on the PZ motors, and how expensive and available?

I don't know how much they weigh. They are a little pricey too. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=PKZ3616

A group of us made a small chart with weights of various components. It is worth taking a look at. My motor is engaged so I'll get the link.
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...t=weight+chart

M measurement for the P51 8.4mm pager is 5.05 grams.
modbuilder got 5.28 for the 4site and 5.17 for the p51.

ouch 11 bucks, they must be good. What about the pinion? can it be pulled off easily?

Any one try the pz Sukhoi motor in a EDF application yet? Seems everyone like the plane.

You would be better off with the 4site or P51 motor.

They're the same motor, and yes, you would be better off. They provide much more power. They draw too much current for the stock Sukhoi batteries, however.

The pinion gear can be pulled of with a GWS micro pinion puller or in my case a set of sharp dikes (wire cutters).

Thank you though! It's the same to post a build so that is why only a few go through the effort. We appreciate it! The pictures are cool!

I've started this thread so we will have a place where all the currently available 30mm to 40mm edf units, parts, and motors are. I have posted the ones I know of. If you know of others, please post links. I also want to give a special thanks to boredom.is.me for helping me with this thread.

AEO 40mm

Thanks all for the wealth of info already posted.

I'm new (not young) and ignorant of the most basic setups for EDF units.

I'd like to power 2 each 8600Kv AEO 40mm EDF units from the same battery and ESC. Is that possible? And if so what setup would anybody recomend.

Who said Bigger is better.
