Speaking of SR's it looks like Blade had quite a few parts left over and built the "new" 230S....I wonder if that FBL shaft and head would fit on my SR??? Hmm?

I have enough spares to build one, except ESC shaft, tail motor! Hafta investigate this! |

i was out flying my BSR this morning when the tail motor started "twitching" and also a extreme sensitivity to the throttle (small movements would make the heli go higher and lower, you could hear the motor sound raise and lower, i had not yet gone to "stunt" mode), since i have made the conversion to the brushless DDVP tail it has flown flawless!........except this morning, when i noticed the twitching and a different noise from the brushless tailmotor and the sensitivity to throttle i decided to bring it back and land it........i almost made it! i was only about a foot above the ground and the heli spun around and hit the ground it could'nt hold together for another 30-seconds, no, 1-foot above the ground and "bam", bent tail boom, stripped main gear, broken servo, probably more when i calm down and really evaulate it. Dang! what happened! this was the sweetest flying heli! |

Hmm? Twitchy throttle? Did you happen to notice if the ESC was overly hot?
Even though mines still brushed tail it developed this weird issue of overly sensitive throttle, but mine never made it to crash stage. The heli though developed this issue of continuing to reinitialize on its own.....the ESC I noticed was getting overly hot. The problem I think is a failing servo on mine. Mine is due for a major overhaul anyway, so replacing cyclic servo's, while redoing feathering shaft bushings. |

went to buy repair parts on Amazon tonight and in the process i noticed that they had the Blade SR for $98.00! so i bought another BSR
interesting thing though, i went back to Amazon and called up the BSR ad again a few hours later and noticed that the BSR was now going for $179.00!!! seriously! how did it go up that much in a couple of hours? |

with this new one i just bought i'm planning on converting the tail to the brushless motor from the 230s

I was thinking of doing the same from parts of the 230s in fact I was thinking of getting a 230s, but since I have a stock SR, and a Cashe of parts...I think I am going to sorta do a SR historical collection.
I'll have my stock SR, build a belted SR, a brushless SR from the 230s (if they work) and a 230S! Since I have a lot of the parts for the 2 other helis, it won't break my bank.... |

i'm hoping the boom is the same size on both helis it'll make it easy to convert the BSR to brushless then. |

I am really starting to want one now! Saw another video of it, looks pretty stable, might be the perfect heli to advance my flying skills with! Even better hoping a lot of parts are interchangeable!

i finally got a chance this morning to fly my brand new stock BSR, i spent some time checking out the setup the past few days and this morning i saw it fly!
for stock it flew really nice, its got that zzzzz......zzzz.....zzzzz going on with the tail motor but it flew great, i got a good one! only thing i did'nt like was when i checked the temperature of the brushed tail motor it was at 134-deg F, that little sucker is working its heart out this is the one i am going to convert to the 230s brushless tail motor, i found out that the tail boom on the 230s is the same diameter as the boom on the BSR so the 230s tail motor mount will fit without modification, i ordered a 20-amp AFRO ESC (multi-rotor) and i talked to Castle Creations about using their 15-amp Talon, i am going to try both and see which works the best......now i just have to wait until the parts are available for the 230s to buy the motor, motor mount for this conversion. in the mean time i'll fly my new "stock" BSR |
