for the people whom have this kit....do you use the supplied servo mounts? imo it'll just add dead weight, unless for some reason on the slightly bigger kit we need the extra sturdyness of the pvc mounts?
The servo mounts really are nice and are only a gram or so each. I recommend that you go ahead and use them as they make the linkages straight and there is no binding if you set it up correctly with them.

Enjoy it and let us know what you think!

We do tend to charge a few at one time, LOL

Usually not in the van like this but there was a threat of rain.

ok i'm typically not one to complain, but i ordered my new dw 40" kit on saturday, with expectations that i'd have it in time to build it and fly it this weekend. every time i've ordered from dwfoamies the shipping has been lightning fast.
so i ordered it on the 10th, and it didn't get accepted in the post office @ 10pm yesterday. damn it.

ok this was my bad. i assumed that when i got the delivery confirmation number (which i learned is created as soon as the order is placed) the order had been brought to the post office. not so, the shipping label is created when the order is placed.
so, i'm sorry mike! didn't mean to bad mouth your company.....and i was/am so looking forward to my new 40" extra i was just bummed out.

the only thing i see that's close is the 38.75" combat. is that what you're refering to? if not, got a link?
thanks.
I commented on this before but want to mention that the 40" kits are now listed on Dw's website.

Just got my Juka 48" in and what a "bad boy" it looks to be. I am going with a CC45 (because I have it and love CC ESC's), HS-65MG's unless someone can suggest an alternative that is close and less money (if you know where I can get them for under $34.99 let me know) and unless someone can really steer me another way, a Scorpion SII-3014-1040. It looks like most are running the APC 12 X 6E but from the Scorp prop chart, the pitch speed is quite high. I was thinking the 13 X 4E, less amps, less pitch speed and same thrust...what am I missing here? I have had great success with the Scorp motors. Prop chart below.

Thanks

^You can always try different props. Mike at DW always suggest stuff that works well, and stuff you can put together with no hassles

As for servos, you can try corona DS929MG's. They're metal geared digitals, that have 39oz in torque on them, same speed as HS65HBs
