I have allready get that !LIVE! composit video out
It's a little tricky but you can clearly see that this feature is right there.
All you have to do is:
-Turn on the camera
-Make a short record
-Plug in the tv-out cable, of course it will start the playback of the last record
-Wait till the end of that playback
-Plug in the USB cable
-Enjoy the view
-After this, you can disconnect the USB

That's it. First time my computer didn't recognise the camera, but later it does, so I have to disable it's driver. Anyway, my card reader was mutch faster...

I think that there's a mechanical detection in the plug itself, and a state machine monitors it. If it detect the "plugging" it starts the playback mode, and if it detect the USB connection, it switches to USB mode. Since the USB didn't want to work (for some reason ) the state machine resets and didn't check if the tv-out cable is attached allready.
If my theory is correct, then all we need is a little mod of that plug, but someone have to open the camera housing to confirm this.
I ordered the camera for a friend, who didn't want this feature, so I didn't want to strip down hes brand new toy.

Challenging Convention
I've got about 4 designs of pan & tilt's that i manufacture for AP, one of which would be perfect for the GoPro... However, i specialise in the high end market, which although it means the mounts are super lightweight, super strong and the smoothest on the market, the one i've got would also be one of the most expensive, since it's 100% Carbon Fibre, CNC Machined aluminuim and Titanium.

Bearings all round, pan mounted via thurst bearings & 4mm bolt (not servo horn) and tilt has option of digitally controlled dual tilt servo system using modular design, but for the GoPro, one servo would be ample.

Although i'm not running my AP business anymore, i think i've got enough machined plates in stock to build a couple. I'd need to check the dimensions of the GoPro though to see what size custom mount plate i'd have to build. Pan/Tilt will allow for both upright & hang mounting configs.

Cheers

Hmm, was just thinking, i've got my new Antenna tracker pan/tilt ready for manufacture now too so maybe worth getting some GoPro mount plates cut for that while i'm getting the monster antenna pan/tilt done (which is gonna be good enough to swing 2 x 4Kg Yagi's around, but again, not cheap as the primary tilt arm mounting plates are machined from 4mm thick carbon Fibre (x 4) and again, i've designed it to be completely modular, meaning you have the option of loads of configs to allow Yagi mount, patch mount, diversity setups etc etc...

Let us know if you want more info.

Cheers

Hello guys,

So our GoPro HD Mount is ready to go.

Material: GFK
weight: 27g (without hub)
fits perfect for the GoPro HD and brings the lense in the middle of the pan/tilt unit.
It will be mounted to an aluminium hub for the servo OR a long hub with a ball bearing in a mounting-plate to make it stronger and "hard landing protected"
To protect the GoPro HD we include a sticker set for between the goPro and the GFK.

It is compatible with our canopy groundplate for easystar, twinstar or Easyglider, you just should use a bigger Servo than.
But you can mount it anywhere like we did on our Rubicon Traxxas Summit crawler for the first snowvideo the next days.

available in the next week at www.globe-flight.com
(I will post it here when we have it online)

More Pictures and details in our partner blog
www.video-flieger.de

words are nice but I know you like to see some pictures, right ?
there we go

hmmm, very different design to the one i've got here.. just gonna do a quick video of it so you can see, but by looking at MrGlobeFlight's efforts, his will be at least half the price..

although i could take away all the Titanium, that would save a few bucks...

just setting up the camera now..

Cheers
