Ran my new MM450 on the local indoor carpet (rubber mat) course today. Extreamly tight 6'-8' lanes with "Z" turns, tons of obstacles including two 3' high table tops with 90* turns at the top to a 3' drop to the main floor. Took me quite a few laps with a million goof ups before I started to get the handle on where to turn , where to gas it, and where to brake to make it around this obstacle course. Uploading vids now so stay tuned!

I posted several short vids of the Atomic MM450 over in the "Atomic Metal Malisha with E-Gyro" discussion group--Take a look!!

Our 1/10 TC race was today (ok, I ran my T3, finished 10th out of 20 racers, end of -car- story!), so I had my two SB-5's with me, of course!
I ran only the "old" stock bike (the one with No.6), almost exactly as it was at the Worlds.
the SBK bike is waiting for a front brake servo, and then it's going to run too. Since Friday it's sporting a new paintjob on the Pavel Hanzel bodywork that I got at the Worlds. Also, the body needs gluing and riveting...
I managed to run 3 batteries, since I had the track for my own for the entire 20 minute breaks!!!
My setup in brief: 2000cst Xray oils front and rear, Orange springs front and rear, 350cst oil in one steering shock, the other is empty, orange springs as well, two black o-rings and a washer on each steering shock for preload.
I ran PMT200 cut tires, the rear mounted on an OLP hub and glassfiber "star".
I am running a Savox 1251 servo, mounted on the front with the "thick" spacer and no spacer at the rear.
There are 4.5mm spacers inside the front suspension shocks, limiting the extension of these, and providing a loaded with battery (but no bodyshell) ground clearance of 32mm at the front of the battery. Motor and ESC are Worlds spec, 13.5T, gearing 87/30. Weight 1905.
Lightscale rear swing arm plates, wheelbase middle hole, upper position.
Not to forget, I am using Fredrik's limiting screws on the lower fork triple.

The bike ran perfectly with this setup, knowing that the track had very good traction for a change... Usually it's medium to good, but today with clouds above, some well-felt humidity and just a couple of raindrops it was very good! The SB-5 almost drives itself with this setup and it can be soooooooo forgiving, that from a point onward during the sessions, I was taking too many liberties with the throttle! For the 2nd and 3rd battery I actually used my best batteries (Nosram 6200's) relegating the touring car to the 5600 Nanotech's (not that they are not good, but the Nosrams are a bit stronger).
I also bravely installed my shortest possible scratchbars and they proved... hmmm... long! The bike could use some more lean at times, I feel, but this is a very rare situation!
In all, even though I was not recording lap times, I FELT the bike was running very fast in every part of the track. I loved it, once again!
Of course everyone in the pits asked the usual "trade-marked" questions...
(how fast, how much, will it wheelie?!) and from some time on, I left the SBK bike naked, so everyone could poke on it and see how it works!
Lovely feelings, indeed!!!

A side note: When building the new SB-5, I wanted to do the same mod at the lower fork triple mount... However, not being good with drilling holes straight and not sure exactly how to make the threads for the screws, I decided to do the next best thing (read: Lazy!). I screwed two of those bolts that hold the hubs to the rims of the SB-5, using some plastic spacers, so that the bolt heads were higher. So, now I have limited steering movement, but (because of being lazy, as I confessed!) it's not adjustable, like Fredrik's solution is. See attached pics, too...

Mini sx

Just finished the first jumps for my basement mini SX track. Pretty tight (20 x 30 feet) for Vinnie/Deegan to negotiate, but it's fun. I just built the nylon crash bars for the MM450 and they are too long for this tight of a track so I'll need to shorten them up or heat and bend them up some so the bike will turn tighter. Right now the ramp to ramp distance is 8 ft but I'll prolly move the take off ramp a little closer to the down ramp so I have a little more time to get the bike straightened up for a better launch. ( even now I can jump all the way to the back wall if I pull the throttle too hard, so 1/2 throttle with a little more finese is called for, lol)
