Hi guys/gals:

I've got the electronics all set up for the sail controls,
I am running the lines through the copper tub through the decks so I don't have any snags, this worked realy well on my 36/600 sail boat, I will be controling three masts sets and the rudder, the stay sail I will set up on a 15 deg. angle slider from port to starbord, so it will help with the steering and tacking.

This looks really really good.
I found a nice local source for tubing,, al, stainless, copper, brass, Ace Hardware by all means. Some of them have a crafts area. Prices are very reasonable and no shiping.
One more thing, bicycle store for wire cable and sleeves, shifter stuff.

Ace has a lot of things that can be used for parts on a boat, things you can't find at your local hobby shop, witch catter to everything but boats.

Thankx Areominded:

I got the main mast strung last night, and the main line to the jib boom, I need to string up some more dead eyes to get the fore mast strung, she is starting to take shape.

yes they are the same hight but they set up different, the mizzen mast has 8 shrouds, the main mast has 10 shrouds, and the fore mast has 12 shrouds, thats 48 dead eyes in all just for the mast support shrouds. Ok I'm done counting it, starts to add up to work.

I've got the mast shrouds done and the forestay, jibstays, the bowsprit and the masts are locked in nice and tight, with out any glue.

I know I'll have to go back and tighten things up before her madden voyge, now on to some little bits and pieces before I take on the sail booms and sails.

I'd be cautious about setting the standing rigging up too tight. Warping of masts and extraction of chainplates are potential problems. I'd leave it slightly loose for the first few voyages; you never know what effect water will have on the cordage - shrinkage or loosening?

In the real ships on which I have sailed, it's common to see the leeward shrouds hanging slightly loose and the windward shrouds hanging tight. Backstays are always needing adjusting, to tighten them. Forestays are usually tight. Some masters on historic schooners deliberately warped the topmasts forward, using tight forestays, but I don't know why. For a model, I prefer a little looseness to make sure I don't warp the wood.

They are all good points and I will let them lose for the first voyge. do not want to distroy what I've worked so hard on, thank you for that, it was something I had not thought of.
