Moving is no fun at all, and working at the same time, makes for a very long day, and a very short night.

I am only moving 20 miles from where I was but, it's in a smaller place, once I get it all done then I'll be able to get the shop setup and back to the Wawona.

I'll bet you thought this thread was dead, HAHAHA

I'm back
Up date, In the last year I've moved twice, lost two cumputers to old age, and built a new work shop, it's only 200 squire feet ( 10 X20 ) but I can work in it.

I'll be starting on the Wawona again, hopefully I'll be able to get it done soon, so will try and keep you all updated.

10 x 20 can work. Put everything on wheels - including the benchwork - and you can scoot everything around where you need it, and out of the way when you don't.

Has it got heat in it?

Yes, I bought one of the oil free standing heaters, it will run me out of here in short order.

I started again by faring the decks again, they did not like it in storage for a year with out anything on them to protect the wood, I'll get some pic's in a day or two, once I set up the coumputer program too size the pic's. Feels good to get back to work on her.

Now that is the tricky bit, the completion that is, I've all ready had to resand the decks,
witch I'm not done with yet but I am working on that first, and then I'll get something on them to protect them from the weather.

Gee, that looks very much like the CA Thayer last time I saw her. I hope they get the real Thayer back together soon. I spent a night on her in 5th grade, and had a lot of fun. I even loved ships back then

Both ships were built by the same man, with the same blue prints, the cabins where a little different, and the C.A.Thayer had a steam plant on the back of the forward cabin.

Thankx Aero:

The plans show that chains are used to lash the Jib boom to the hull, I have brass chain of the scale but it's not very strong, I thought of useing some wire I have that looks like cable. Suggestions!!
