Edit: Ah..perhaps it was that the OP was a shill and is now on Vaca.
No to the contrary, it was Scorpion friendly...

Comparing performance stats of e-flite and infinite motors to scorpions will only sell more scorpions

I sent a request for a test motor (something <400W since I can't cope with monsters) but as yet have no received any response.

I'm more or less on the same page as Luna. If we had got as far as getting some trustworthy data (i.e. not from the manufacturer, an not from a shill) for the Infinite motor, we would all be better off, Scorpion vendors included.
Much better to know the facts than to guess and spend our money on products of uncertain performance.

If the Infinite performed worse than the Scorpions, we consumers would know we were getting less for our money. If they performed as well or better than the Scorpions, Georges and Lucien would have to figure out how to make Scorpion motors even better, or match the prices of the Infinite motors, and once again all of us consumers would benefit.

CryHavoc38, any chance you might still do those voltage/current/rpm measurements on the Infinite motor? Do your good deed for the day and help spread some knowledge where there is now only ignorance (none of us knows for sure how these motors perform)?

The term "bitbucket" is still fairly widely used in the Linux and FreeBSD world, carried over from Unix roots in the 60's. I dropped Windows and switched to Linux back in 2001, and I've read a lot of articles and magazines on Linux since then - I can tell you the term crops up fairly frequently.

I'm almost certain RC Groups runs on Linux, and is built on other Free and Open Source software (the Free Apache webserver and Free PHP scripting language, for starters - note the ".php?" in every RCG thread URL).

Using Free/Open Source software to run RCG makes total sense - we RC pilots/builders know that enthusiastic individuals motivated by love for flying things usually build a better aircraft than wage slaves working in an ARF sweatshop, with a weekly paycheque as the only motivation. It's no different with software - enthusiastic individuals motivated by a love of programming often build better software than wage slaves working for large software companies.

The big difference is that few of us freely give away lovingly hand-built RC planes, but many people do freely give away lovingly hand-built Free and Open Source software. What an incredible gift to humankind. Richard Stallman should be proud of what he started.

I am told, in an e-mail from 'Nancy' at OK, that decisions on testers/motors will be made on January 12.

Still working on this.
My plan is to pull the power 46 I have in a Hyperion Extra 260 and put the OKhobby motor in it. I will first do baseline comparisons with the Power46 using different props and different lipo's, and then swap out the motor and repeat the same tests.

Was going to do this yesterday, but it was the first day in about a month that it wasn't raining or sunny but 15 degree's outside here.

A somewhat nice day with a slight breeze and about 50 degree's outside at this time of the year means GO FLY!

Something/anything relatively small (A1705 through A2213... there is one H2216-2600 on which I could run a prop) - I'll leave you guys to the heli motors and 400W+ monsters.

I ordered the one below. I needed something that is similar in specs to a park 480 1020kv and this one fits that bill, for now on paper of course.

http://okhobby.hk/product.php?id_product=772

At $30 bucks delivered, I figured what the heck. Would cost me similar money for a Turnigy SK series motor.
