After seeing Lindberg's Japanese U-boat kit at the LHS just before Christmas, I'm thinking that the company may be starting a new era---.

Maybe we'll see that "Arizona" a little sooner than two years---?

You'll be lucky to see that one sometime by the end of next year, but I'm more interested to see what their "noted" design team ends up releasing.

After what they did with the I-53, I wouldn't be surprised to see their version of Arizona come with a helo deck!

The I-53 has a few errors.

The debate rages on (Lindberg on one side, rest of the modeling world on the other). For example:

Catastrophic is a word that comes to mind... If you're just looking for something to play with in the pond or pool & don't care about historical accuracy, I guess it has it's place.

David Merriman is working on a replacement kit to make the bow look more like something the IJN had built, but aside from that & a fitting kit that should be released soon, no one else has plans for aftermarket kits. Nautilus was considering a deck but bowed out once they got their hands on the kit & saw it didn't resemble anything close to a C3 type.

You can read more about Lindberg's Edsel on the following links:

For all the work it takes to produce a kit, why doesn't Lindberg offer something that is reasonably accurate, instead of folk art---?
