I did 2 FPV flights at Night with Ho-jazz and BPR.
Only Voltage and Time elapsed OSD.

OMG- Both times got lost as hell and if it weren't for the ground crew I woulda never made it back... We learned a lot about night flying...
Fortunately we didn't learn the hard way.

Next time we will be uber more prepared.

Saturday Sept 29th
Evening / Night FPV Fly-In.
Yes it will be a full Harvest Moon.

Thankfully i have NAZA GPS on the quad...got extremely disoriented yesterday over the lake looking for the cove we were in as the count down timer was going off. Flipped return to home and got it back just as the quad was wobbling due to the battery running out

Hopefully the weather will cooperate. The camera that was recommended wasn't much better than the one I had.

Any advice on Camera night ops set-ups welcome.

Hmmm...no big lens needed for that cam? Mark and I both have a WDR Sony HAD 600
TVL that switches from day to night auto...will this cam not preform like the 540? Cause it was DARK! Marko sacked right on up though and flew with glow sticks!

The only night camera I have experience with is the RMRC 540

the below video was shot in complete darkness at 9pm. Granted theres a lot of light from the city reflecting off the cloud base, but it does a great job of night ops...

Passing through the city today...
I spotted a hex or octo copter that was in a solid hover near 85 just south IP. Good looking rig...
Wonder who it was???

This is what your looking for, somebody already has them strapped to the bottom of their discovery. I need to order some just in case:

I was nervous the first two flights but i figure if it did go in it was worth the risk of the footage i grabbed, just wouldnt be able to fly FPV for a few months. I think my father was more nervous than me. He kept yelling that he didnt know where i was and he couldnt see the quadcopter....my response "dad thats the point of me flying through the goggles i know where i am"
