I have one of those! It's the original arducopter from diydrones. It uses the ardupilot mega autopilot. Very neat indeed.

Help a fpv noob.

Ok. I've realized I will never be a 3d or heli pilot. I like some mild aerobatics in my RV9 and enjoy getting really high and soaring...not what you think Let's say I had about 700 bucks to blow. Could I get into a good fpv setup? I have a radian, and radian pro but realize a pusherprop is better/no distortion of vid. Who wants to help a guy out? I'm not intimidated by the set up, but honestly I'm clueless as to what ya need to DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. I'm looking to do some low level/pseudo line of site cruising- I don't see myself getting 5 miles out -but who knows once I get into it. I've been checking out the ready made Rc site and see some attractive package deals- is this a good way to start? You can pm me if ya want to discuss over the phone. Rcgroups has been a valuble resource for me and i hope yall will guide me in the right direction again. Thanks for your help. Rich

not that my setup is anywhere near what matt can do but i probably has less than $500 into mine and have solid link to about a mile out, plenty for enjoying FPV and it didnt break the bank.

It will definitley help having somebody who knows what they are doing, FPV is like multirotor, very steep learning curve because the information just that easy to find in one place.

After seeing some guys flying their Parkzone P-47 with FPV, it's become a huge interest to me. I certainly don't want to go miles out at 1600 ft, but just flying the pattern "from the cockpit" would be more than cool enough for me right now.

I'd like to do a goggle type set up, but have no clue what a good "poor man's" set up would be. Like Electrich said, "I'm clueless" about this stuff. I was hoping to get down to the PecanPatch for the FPV Fly In just to learn, but had other priorities pop up at that time.

if your going goggles the best way to go is the Fat Sharks. Which model and what options you want all depend on what you want to do. I just picked up a set of dominators as i really dont have a use for the built in head tracking or wireless setup but wanted the best optics.

For a good all in one system check out the fat shark predators with and immersion RC compatible video RX, and a Sony CCD camera to start off with. It's a good basic unit to get your FPV feet wet and you can build on the system as you go.

Andy ,we have been kicking around a date in september. It will not be FPV only though. No solid date yet but Marko was thinking a 2 day fly-in. Closer to mid sept if we can get it going because HHAEFI is mid october and we are going to that
