Out of interest (and because I'm lazy and don't want to trawl through the P40 thread), what are the main complaints of the E-flite P40? Looking at one at work the battery bay looks like a very tights fit and the canopy magnets aren't great, but what else?

I'd hope with the Kyosho and/or new e-flite models, some of these issues would be addressed?

I wonder if I could convert one of these to glow? Maybe a .020 or .049 teedee engine, anyone recall what size props the p40 used?

translated swedish text: aiRium series is for those who want to continue with some larger plan for aluminum, or for those who simply want to have fun! We have already ordered aiRium Piper J-3 Cub, and in February it will be in Sweden. Not much later, all Warbird-fans to have their wishes fulfilled. aiRium comes as 4-channel WWII machines with impressive performance and detail. The first models are classic Spitfire and Messerschmitt.

Nice Google'ing guys!!! Must work on those skills...but then again, that would leave me less time for my planes/helis

The aiRium version of the P-40 had a different paint/decal scheme than the E-Flite. I hope E-Flite will have a different decal scheme for the Bf109. Being a lover of Bf109s, mainly F/G/K variants, I'm glad to see the E for the sake of more rectangular wings so hopefully less tip stalls.

So Cub in February 2010, then Warbirds probably late Spring or early Summer...hopefully. Must start rounding up electronics...

Looking at specs comparison to P-40: (don't know how to do table so pic attached)

BTW, BabelFish does a really bad translation in either Japanese or Chinese

I can do w/o the rudder control to keep the weight down. I don't like the extra 30 grams as it is compared to P-40 eventhough the wing loading is not suffering too much. I'm just concerned that the 3 bladed prop may cause extra amps draw and shorten flight time.

Stuart,
My only complaint with the P-40 is the tight lipo space and lots of bending and squeezing of lipo/esc wires to fit the canopy. I hope they fixed this one area.

If it flies as well as the P-40...or better...I'll take several Bf109s and customize some decoration schemes

Wow! I agree that if E-flite does not release these under their name, I will just get one from Kyosho. After careful consideration, I gotta have that Spit! Shame on me for not having a single Spitfire in my electric hangar. I am considering the new Ripmax Spit, but if I can wait long enough for these to hit the market I will.

If the different paint schemes between the E-Flite and Kyosho P-40 is a precedent, then PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE E-Flite, make this paint scheme for your version of the Bf109E.

And perhaps a desert scheme for the Spitfire too so they can duel over the African desert.
