Skyartec Wasp V4 Belt 250 3D 6 channel RC helicopter

Hi Folks,

Has anyone on here bought a "Skyartec Wasp V4 Belt 250 3D 6 channel RC helicopter", or had experience of one?

All comments welcome.

Regards

Peter.

My nephew has the Wasp V3 and I have flown it a number of times. I like it. It's pretty tame as 250 size helis go. The head design gives more gradual response and it seems to be quite stable. If you are an experienced 250 pilot, you may find the responses lack snap and can be a little sloppy. If there's a 250 size heli that's OK for beginners, this is it. The V4 Belt is pretty much the same heli, but has a 2.4 ghz radio and a number of structural upgrades. It's nicely equipped for the price and the Sky600 gyro is getting very good reviews.

Thanks for your input. I have flown fixed wing, but this will be my first Heli'. 'Seems like a good choice.

No, it isn't a good choice. There isn't any 250 CP heli that's a good choice for somebody with no experience. Helis are much more difficult to fly. A coax heli or self-stabilizing single rotor micro are much better choices; something like an ESky Lama V4, Walkera CB100 or Eflight MSR.

Oops, too late, I've bought it! I'll "cane" the Sim before I try to send it skywards ;-)

I disagree, Co ax's provide poor (no?) experience for a 'real' heli model.
But Here: is a Surprisingly good Heli for Very Little coin

It depends how you fly your coax. I learned orientation on an mcx but I had to fly with a lot of cyclic so instead of just turning I would be banking. The feel is of course not the same as a cp or fp but at least you know which direction it'll go when facing you or sideways

O.K.

Having already established that I have no experience of Helis, what's a coax? Is it a heli with contra rotating rotors?

Yes. I agree that a coax doesn't teach you a lot, but it's not discouraging, either. The most significant thing with single rotor helis is they want to roll, constantly. This is not true with a coax or a sim.
