What could possibly go wrong!!

Many many thanks to you and you club for inviting us to a superb days autogyring, the "fun gauge" was hard over to the right and for once the weather
couldn't have been better. It was good to meet up with Rich (Ricardo 1500) and see your gyros fly oh so well.

Such fun with three gyros up but next time how about five

great video..fantastic fun.
Had some fun last week with Chas at Old Warden playing with his RPG and my DAG1.
Back to the video....
I think I remember that the hobbit had a longer piece of string and that it was routed through a eyelet hole in a piece of plastic on the fuselage near the rudder. Don't know if would make a difference. Also as the rotors got up to speed about 10 ft after the string ran out you needed to throttle back to about 3/4 power for lift off. If you look at the hobbit video the take off was rather long. Bill
Oh no...not yet another Hobbit!!!!!!!

Great stuff guys! Who's at the sticks of the helicopter? Nice flying!

So Rich, did the Hobbit fly? I love that string method!

Ha!, you have got one now!!!...I tried mine yesterday but failed dramatically! There wasn't a breath of wind and I'm presuming my blades were just not up to speed. I'm unsure if I can go longer with my string due to its thickness, it was quite comical the knots I was getting around that pre rotator spool! (for some reason my old man only ever took me a few times fishing as a child!!, I wonder why)
Slight bit of damage which is almost repaired, one of the tailplane tips and the rudder hinges. Other than that she is a strong ship, but should be considering the amount of balsa tree in her...I cant believe the weight of it!..has to be 7-8lbs and its DAG sized
I will wait for a bit of a breeze the next time out, I have a pair of Aerobalsa blades that I might just try on it for that extra bit of lift
This will be a big learning curve for me as I have never had a go with a swash plate type head, hopefully it will assist in getting the Micro Mold Wallis into the air. I just haven't a clue as what to expect regarding flying characteristics?
I reckon we could easily shave off a couple of pounds if it were built a bit lighter with a standard type flexi plate head?..maybe more??

Amazing what turns up after all of these years!... and great fun!

I'm sure another will turn up, failing that I have another coming from Guernsey.

Here is the failed take off..try not to laugh too much. I had 3 'minor glitches through out the day'. Spyro decided it didnt want its rotors any more (no damage) and don't ask what I forgot to do!!! and my axle decided to come loose again on the PCA-2!!
I had a few flights with the Nellie though, have really got that flying well now thanks to Jochen

Hobbitt no go! (0 min 10 sec)

The search function in this forum does not seem to be producing any information on the RC Minx Autogyro.

Can anyone point me to some information on it?
