Can I use any RX with my JR Max 6 FM TX

Hi,
I am new to rc flying, I don't even have a plane yet!
I have picked up a JR Max 6 FM TX and that's it.
My questions are will any receiver work with this model.
Will any 35mhz crystal work with the TX & RX.
Will any servos work with any RX.

Sorry for the stupid questions but I have not got a clue yet.

Cheers

Paul

On 35MHz any make of receiver should be OK. This is as long as you're not
using PCM - and I don't think the JR Max 6 is capable of PCM. You may get
replies that JR & Futaba use a different shift and are incompatible. This
is true on the American 72MHz frequencies, but not on 35MHz. (You could
post to uk.rec.models.radio-control.air for UK-specific questions.
rec.models.rc.air is a global group.)

For crystals stick with the same brand of crystal as the item it's used in.
So use a JR crystal in a JR Tx, but use a Futaba crystals in a Futaba Rx.

Servos are compatible with a couple of points to note. Sanwa used to use a
different plug configuration so avoid old Sanwa servos. Futaba plugs have
an extra 'ridge' to make sure they are plugged-in the right way round.
Other manufacturers don't bother with this. If you have a Futaba Rx then
any servo will plug into it, but to plug a Futaba servo into (say) a JR Rx
will need the little ridge on the plug to be shaved off.

Have a look around some of the UK websites for more info, eg.
