I had the PNP MUS with the 450 motor. Hooked up to a watts up i was able to pull somthing like 241watts. This motor was in a super low fly by that ended up hitting some grass and over time i belive i worked some dirt into the bearings. The motor is pretty much shot at this point.
That being said i plan to upgrade to a 480 setup(1020kv). I noticed the mounting hardware isnt the same as the 450. Can i use the 450 mounting hardware with the 480 so i dont have to modify the plane? Would this end up comprmising the firewall? I intend to use three differnt props the 10X7E, 11X7E and 10X10E to play around with speed and thrust.

Nope... you"ll need to drill new holes for the 480 mount... done properly you wont weaken the fire wall.

10X7 is to small for a 480 IF your looking for the power it CAN produce... 11x7 or a 12x6 are good choices IF your batteries are up to delivering the nearly 30A load at full throttle. The 10x10 MAY be to much... check your watt's.

I assume your upgrading or have already upgraded the PNP ESC... if not do so...the 480 WILL somke it

Also keep in mind your gona need tail weight with the 480 so your AUW will increase 2-3 ounces... this will hurt the floaty feel the 450 powered stick has.

Myself i run the e flight 450 and a 1000Mah 30c 3's batt for an AUW of 22 ounces... plenty power for me and fly's nice lite
