Alan,

I'm aware how to change models. FW version is 1.08, using switch (A) for throttle lock. I'll make a video to show exactly what's going on.

Thanks,
Pat

May have misunderstood previous post, perhaps you are referring to exisiting
condition on update list:
Aurora 9 - Throttle Lock (Hold) & Transmit Yes-No Features & Use.

Caution: A user defined switch, does not yet default to throttle lock/hold position when TX turned on.
(on software update request list)
Cycle Switch, After TX is switched on, to actuate.
"Still works the same way as pressing and holding the plane icon from the
home screen to lock the throttle once the radio is on, similar to using the
push button after an Eclipse 7, Optic 6 TX etc are turned on. [/url]

I do appreciate your help Alan.

The problem is not just that it doesn't default to the lock on when the first model is selected and the switch is in the "locked" position. You can flip the switch back and forth and the lock comes back on...throttle still works.

When you have the throttle lock "on" with one plane, then select a new model on the aurora, you go to plug the battery in the new plane and the esc's will beep that they aren't getting a throttle signal, flipping the switch that was assigned to "throttle lock" will not change anything. You have to manually power the Aurora off, then back on again for the throttle signal to be transmitted again. The "monitor" window will show it moving, but try it out in person and you'll see.

Perhaps still misunderstanding with increasing years, so have retested several
models using the screen icon only - no problems.
Then assigned switch "F" to [THROLock] for those same models with
rear "Off" forward "On", again all worked as described previously.
> apply Throttle lock > tap model name to open selection and change model
> select new model > screen instantly shows:
top line "Model Change to ****
middle line "(Radio Stop)
bottom line [Yes] [No].
....Select [Yes]
> Initial check frequency screen appears with
"Ready to Transmit"
[Yes] [No]
- select Yes,
apply throttle lock, connect power pack
- When ready to fly, switch throttle lock to off, move stick forward and motor starts.
There is no need to power off and on when changing models on an A9.
Believe greater majority would turn model just flown off then TX whilst walking back from flight line/slope
and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee/relax whatever whilst preparing next model.

Rather than blocking this thread, please PM how your system is setup and
confirm same switch and positions for all models and no other mix with that switch, or refer:

Ok, here is my personal wishlist, which I think would be good.

A few that have probably already been said:
mah counter/alarm
RSSI readout/alarm
Selective trainer mixing

And what I need:
Mix turn on speed, Like the way you can transition to a flight condition over a period of time, but in turning on and off a mix.

For example, using a two position switch so that it runs through a state change as if it was on a proportional channel. For those times when it is necessary to have a surface go in one direction, then reverse directions, but you only want it on a single switch.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense, if you want me to explain it better, just ask.

I hope, it will be soon

My wish: Fix the timer issue. Very disappointing that the timer isn't even close. I fly sailplane contests and now I'll have to go back to the 'ol stopwatch with my shiny new Hitec A9.

I love the A9 with two exceptions - to be a useful DLG (F3K) radio the A9 needs one fix and one enhancement;
1. The timer accuracy needs to be fixed ASAP. Comparison to a stopwatch shows the A9 is slow by approx 10 seconds after 3 minutes. That is a big difference in F3K. When the pilot is timing for himself using a separate stopwatch is not an option.
2. The timer reset needs to be assignable to a switch. On my Futaba 10c I have the momentary switch assigned to reset the timer. This way, on launch when I release the momentary switch the timer resets and starts the count up. On landing I either simply glance at the time or stop the timer with the switch assigned to start/stop and there is my flight time. On the A9, having to touch the screen to reset the timer is not helpful or fast enough for F3K.

Cheers

Back in June 2011 there was mention of stick switches being implemented in the next update. Is this a feature we will see in the next update?
