Any powerful motor then Axi 2820/10 class

Hi ,
I have AXI 2820/10 setup on my Custom UAV , spinning 10X5 APC-E prop.. Generates 1.7 Kg of static thrust..consumes about 33A at full power..AUW is 2.5 Kg. I am using hand launch and belly landing.. I am finding static thrust of the setup on the Edge being hand launched....If I use 10X6 or 10X7 is consumes 3 to 5 amps more but thrust increases only about 100 Gms..Being a pusher I have a limitation of using 10 Dia prop..

Is there any better power plant setup ? Has anyone tried ..? Above is teh Optimum thrust against power consumption I could manage.

Inputs are highly appreciated..

I love my AxiGold, but if you have even more money, check these, supposed to

Try the Power Systems Thread

Hello Sid

The Power Systems Thread gets a lot of activity from some very knowledgeable people. I second the Neu suggestion. I would also look at some of the Scorpion and Plettenberg...and of course Aveox.

Try your question in the Power Systems Thread and I am sure there will be a lot of help sent your way.

Do you have any pictures of your UAV ??? Just kidding....Mounting the rudder today and should be ready to snap some for you in the next few days. Almost there...

Good luck

Hello Sid..I received some information from Maxon

"Maxon has some very high efficiency / power per unit volume brushless motors.

Please call me so we can further discuss your particular requirements for this application."

I need to give them a call, they say they have something sutiable.

I am not sure how to specifiy the motor yet though. I think I need to get some test flights done first.

Ill keep you posted

No building details, Its nothing special though except it all snaps together without any tools. This is a prototype and the final version will have some changes.

72" Wing Span
48" Long
3000 Grams

Off to do a test flight today, hope it flys!

Ill post a flight report.
