My motor is mounted on a stock Parkzone stryker mount ...so I will assume that is correct. I will move the battery back more and do some higher altitude glides to test further. Perhaps add a small amount of upward tilt to elevons, but not more than what I can trim out. I would appreciate any additional advise. This is my first Stryker...not necessarily light. Fuse, vert fins, covers are all stock. Hextronix 3000 kv / 25 amp esc / APC 7X5 pusher prop / 3s 800 or 1300 mah bat,

did you check the cg of the plane? the balance point should be the front tip of the round hole, where you hold the plane to launch it... if you plan on flying slow and doing harriers then you should be closer to the center or even rear of that hole, if it is windy, you should be slightly in front of that hole... The stryker will fly well even though the cg is off by suprising amounts, but too much and it wont be as fun as if its in the right spot...

First FPV Stryker
I am thinking about trying a Stryker for FPV...I have flown many wings, quads, and planes ,even a light FPV funjet....will build it using DT foam fins and elevons to save some weight
looking for the optimum power combination for a full setup: board camera, ET OSD with stabilizer, 1.2G VTX (400mw), Frsky LRS RX so it will be a little heavier hoping for 15 min duration... suggestions on motor, prop, and battery? |

Yo light stryker thread!!!
Thinking of trying to use a light stryker as a mini slope plane when it gets crazy windy here. Beat it up type of plane to learn on. I have a couple bare fuses, cheapo 5 grams servos and a small esc sitting here. Wonder what the absolute lightest motor currently available is...anyone have advice? Also thinking of trying to work in a rudder. Open to advice on the lightest way to accomplish that. I have a grip of different sized depron from a previous light stryker build. Goal is to hopefully fly with power off. Hit the motor when im in trouble and to launch. You guys think this will even work? |

It should absolutely work. The smallest motor on any of mine is a 0.9oz 'Blue Wonder' type. I usually run a 10A ESC.
You could probaly shave a couple of grams off that with an AX1806N or Firepower 250 or something like that. I've run 450mAh-860mAh 3S lipos in mine. You might be able to shave that down to a 450mAh 2S, but if you loose too much power, in strong winds, you'll never see the plane again! |

I fly mine over the dunes on the outer banks of NC from the beach.
While walking with my wife on the beach, we walk together while I fly up and down the beach and slope off the dunes there on windy days. Great fun. Blue wonder 1700 w/450 or 850 batts and 7x6 prop. |

I fly mine with batteries ranging from 3s 350mah to 3s 1800mah. with the hextronic 24gram 1700kv (blue wonder). windys days I'd probably use 1300mah, or actually on a beach or where the winds are steady and not gusty you can use ~800mah without having the plane bounce around....

Its windy as hell here. But i like flying slow and trying to stall out while vertical and see how long i can hold it there. So is the front of the hole where most guys are balancing? |

Do you guys vent the ESC at all? I used to have a small scoop on the nose. But the battery blocked the air. Thought about carving air channels around the sides of the battery.
Instead made a new scoop over the electronics area. Eh...mixed feelings on it. Looks too big think i made it too tall. In the summer i have taken this plane camping. It can get to 120 not exaggerating. Havnt flown at that temp cause im too drunk on beer trying to stay cool. But def flown in the 110-115. Since i first build this plane thought i needed some good airflow for that reason. Think it even needs it? Plush10A and the turnigy 2730-1500k with an 8040 prop that i slightly cut down to keeps the amps in check. |

The stryker flies again!!!!! Wow these planes are so much fun!!!!
Been over a year since i had some troubles. Im asking in several threads wonder what you fellas have to say. Im running an OrangeRX 6 channel. The damn thing loses signal and does a brownout. A year ago my beautiful plane lost all reception and nose dived straight into a tree. Did some repairs and flew 3 batteries yesterday. The 2nd flight again i had a brownout. When i land my RX is blinking. People are saying its either a loose power wire to the RX. Or, i have a binding or bad servo which causes the ESC to fall below LVC. I have searched for loose wires and find nada. Also i had the plane on the bench with a fully charged battery and the RX did a brownOut right there in front of me. So i dont think its a LVC problem either. Any advice from this wonderful light stryker thread?? |

Orange RX
It may sound a bit obvious, but have you tried another RX.
I had a similar problem with another plane and a new RX cured it. I have a fleet of around 20 planes helis and quads and use Orange rxs in all.I have had 2 failures over the past year or so with one doa. |
