“It seems like the year for Croatia to take the title.” Are the IOM World Championships now a team racing event? Is there a factual basis for this statement? Hopefully this is just poorly worded.

No wonder IOM sailing is struggling a bit at the moment. Nearly any comment, interesting drawing or design query is met with somebody jumping down their throat. Lighten up. Too many grumpy old farts me thinks.

Some nice picture taken by Sue Brown at the last UK ranking event in tricky conditions: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmHG55V6?fbclid=...KyW3EJvjL9t13w

You mean to keep, Zvonko won Worlds 2017 in France.

I see many guys able to go on the box, hard to tell.

New V11

Here is a glimpse of the new V11 from Ian Vickers. A few changes over the V10 but appearing similar.

10/22 Adding a brand new V10 for comparison below.

I wonder about the mast step and how the mast ram will be affected by the much shorter distance to the mast end.

Olivier,
You are totally right! My memory failed me. I incorrectly remembered that Guillermo Beltri won in 2017 and Zvonko was second. Double Oops!

So nothing on XL sails?

Good luck to everyone attending. I hope the conditions provide excellent racing. Looking forward to spectating from afar if the opportunity is there.

The nice feature about the mast step at the bottom of the well, is when rigging the boat, the mast is self supporting until the shrouds are attached. Perhaps even more important, if a shroud becomes detached during a race, the mast stays up so you can sail back to shore. The deck stepped mast - falls over.

I have a V8 and so far no problems with the mast well, but if I ever has a problem with the steel pin, then the new design would be a simple fix.

An advantage with the well is when you add lead to the B and C rigs, the extra weight is much lower in the boat

One week remaining to register for the 2019 IOM Harvest Moon regatta at Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead, M.A. with Registrations closing 11/03/19.
There is lots of excitement in Marblehead Harbor these days surrounding model boats, so if you own an IOM and are within proximity to this event, don’t miss it.
We currently have 9 confirmed skippers and the latest development that Rumson’s Rum may offer a Rum Tasting for our competitors post-regatta. Please find the NOR/SIs attached for your consideration and we look forward to your entry.

In what might be the first of it's kind, the 2019 IOM Harvest Moon now has a rum sponsor.
Rumson's Rum - a major sponsor of events in the Marblehead area is jumping on board and offering rum tastings and awards to our podium. Entries now up to 11 as well. Follow this link to see who's coming and quit that Mount Gay crap and drink something better!

IOM Worlds Sports Pool?

Any interest in a sports pool for the IOM Worlds?

I would suggest that any form of betting, even friendly bets, are a step away from the Corinthian spirit of the class.
